I know no one cares what I had for lunch, but today is a holiday. A holiday all about food, right? So let me just tell you…
We went to the Manchester Grand Hyatt for CHAMPAGNE Brunch. My idea! I take all the credit. So… we arrive, find free street parking that was literally a walk in the park away, and check in for our 1:15 reservation. We end up waiting for a while, and were finally seated at one thirty. I was a bit worried. I mean it was all my idea. I didn’t want to get in trouble with my man for ruining our one day off together IN MONTHS. No pressure though, right? Anyway, I was a bit concerned as we were led to our table in what turned out to be the ground floor of the hotel.
[off topic] what the goddamn hell is up with San Diego? All these high rise buildings and there are only 2 sky bars?? No top floor restaurants? Poor, poor planning people. Take a cue from San Francisco. We gays LOVE a sky bar. We LOVE a good view while we eat. Your businesses are missing out on a lot more money...[/off topic]
So anyway. We sit down and are immediately greeted with champagne… Richard asked about there being a wine list available to go with the main course or something, and Jorge assured us that with him as our server the champagne glass was never empty. No need for any wine, unless you prefer it?
Erm. No. Champagne is more than fine! The day was looking up! Booze! Seriously though, it was one of the better brunch things we have been to (I have been to many in my life. Mom loves a good brunch), and we were pleased. The food was very diverse. We had plenty of breads, turkey, potatoes, and all that stuff you’d expect as well as a full sushi bar, ravioli made to order, and ham and prime rib and, well you get the idea. Lots of stuff. And the desserts.. omg the desserts! We hung out there and lingered over our food and bitched about San Diegans and their damn flip flops with any outfit.
After that we were homeward bound. Richard blogged at his Vox site. We chilled some of our own champagne and watched movies. Then Grey’s Anatomy. Then Richard had to go to bed cause he has to be at work at 4:30 in the morning tomorrow for all of you folks who shop on Black Friday. Eeeww. Poor guy. So while he’s sleeping, I blog. Don’t be fooled, I work too. I am on the 3 till midnight shift for those of you who sleep in and then shop on Black Friday.
