(Play it REALLY loud for the full effect)

Seriously.. I was ENTHRALLED with the song I heard the first time I walked into The Lamplighter. It was a moment in time that I will never forget. The music pumping, the strangely beautiful lesbian shouting and clapping… the cocktails.. *sigh* I had to have that song. I remembered none of it. So tonight we went back to the bar, Betty in tow (who doesn’t even drink) to recreate the experience. I took a dollar and played four songs that *could* have been it, since I had no idea what they were. The first one was a dud. A slow jam, retro even. Ugh. I was so sad. The next song however started off strong. I had chosen Journey, Touchin’, Lovin’, Squeezin’. I was sure it was it! My song! We listened again (on the next 4 plays for a dollar) and I was positive. We also heard some G ‘n R, Carly Simon, and other random faves. But then I got the idea to buy the ring-tone! I mean if I love the song so much… so I found it and downloaded it. Hmm.

It was not the song we were enjoying. But the bartender insisted through all of our jokes about a mislabeled jukebox… that theirs was a-okay. Huh. So at home, confused, and still thinking Journey.. I googled. I iTunes’d. I am now listening to my new favorite song More Than A Feeling by BOSTON.

Damn lying jukebox. But I still love that bar. I guess you’d say that’s one of its quirks.

UPDATE: Audio moved to VOX.
