it is soo easy! “patti labelle’s turkey chili”
2 T veg oil (or olive oil)
2 packs ground turkey (ends up like 2.5 pounds)
2 med onions, chopped
1 small green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 jalapeno or 1/2 habenera (wear gloves to avoid a Hot Pepper Incident)
2 cloves garlic (or 3 or 4)
3 T chili powder
1 T chipotle chili powder
2 heaping t gr cumin
1 heaping t dried oregano
1/2 t cayenne (or more)
2 cups water (or 1 beer)
28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 6 oz can of tomato paste
salt and pepper
Heat oil and brown the turkey. Add onions, green pepper, jalapeno, and garlic, and brown. Add all spices and stir combine. Add all tomatoes and the beer. Bring to simmer, simmer for an hour, uncovered.
forgot the 3 cans of Kidney Beans… drained. Oops!
