what's up?
I just spent 5 minutes playing peek-a-boo with the cat. Is that wrong? And does posting this make me just that much closer to becoming a ‘cat blogger’? Sigh. It does, doesn’t it? Gah! Well there you go. I can’t really ignore them. They are obnoxious. Right now they are fighting over a chair. The tactics used are pretty funny. One squeezes in where there is no room and spreads out. The other starts licking, kissing, or cleaning and follows with a chomp on the ear. Now that’s love right there, the chomp. Nice!
So I am restless tonight. Can you tell? Yeah. I am listening to a podcast and late night snacking. I think I am tense. I have buyers remorse! ‘What did you buy?’ you ask… Well let me tell you…
It all started earlier today when I was informed that my PTO request was GRANTED! I will be on vacation from June 25 through July 5th! I am so excited because as you know me and my man celebrate our anniversary on the Fourth of July! (Because that’s when I first went to his place and never left…) This year is a big one too. TEN YEARS. Gawd I feel old. Anyhoo, we bought tickets to Florida! And reserved a convertible! Odd choice for a car as the Florida weather will be questionable then as far as the afternoon rain, but it was the same price as the not converting number. Besides we will be staying for the most part with mom and dad, so that’s like saving money right? Anyway. I am so excited for Richard to experience the joy of the 8 hours of travel, the humidity, and the charm of my parent’s small adopted home town that censors Cosmo in the grocery.

Plus we are doing Epcot, Disney, Orlando, Miami, Ft. Meyers, some other Ft., and possibly stopping off in Tampa as soon as I invite myself to the realm of the Antisocialite!

lunchtime poll
Hey there kids! How are you today? Good? Great! Me too. I have to admit though, I have had better days off. But that is off topic. I have a very specific question for you today. An important question that weighs heavy on the future of this here blog, danielphillip.com. Okay well maybe not heavy since we all know I am king here. Hands firmly on the wheel and all.. I even carry a big stick! But really, I am curious how you all, the other half of the fabulous phenomenon here at dp.com feel about the whole guest poster, guest author idea? It is totally different than a multi author thing, eh? I mean in that situation one expects it. But here at dp.com we have heard almost exclusively from me. Sure I went on vacation once or twice and folks at the time (that I still love bloggistically) stepped up to the plate for me.. Gawd. I remember Puerto Vallarta. Ahhh. But had I blogged that! So many great posts there..
I think it concerns me because I am more hesitant to share than I was in the past. It’s like a part of me, this site. There is so much of me here if you look for it. I am more than some trashy links and a recap of a trip to the mall if you dig deeper… (really, search me! Check the archives by category!)
But now I am off track again. I want to know would you welcome another voice here at danielphillip.com? Would you really? What if it was someone totally new and unexpected?
gotta topic?

what's up?
...and my neighbor has more than one drunk ho in his hot tub. You may be wondering how I know they are hos . Well, there are more than one. I also find that nice girls, ladies, or women rarely use the type of words I am hearing. And what is with the squealing? It is almost two in the morning for cry-eye! Ah well, I am not surprised, It’s normal for that self centered, self important, and selfish man to have this sort of thing going on. I am lucky Richard is asleep in the living room on the other side of the house. I was trying to get him off to bed, but then he’d be able to hear the craziness and call security. Or worse the police. It’s funny because that makes sense but it is the last thing I’d do. I mean I am all about confronting a problem, like at work where you can go away from it. When it’s someone who is ten feet away all the time that knows where you live and can fuck with your house, car, yard, pets, or you that I feel different. Those people are not to be messed with. We have had bad bad experiences with neighbors. Too many to rehash tonight.
Wait, that’s not why I started this… I have issues people! Richard and I would like to go on vacation at some point this year. Tonight he spoke to my brother and was working on this amazing itinerary when I got home from work. It included visiting my brother Boston, my parents in Florida, and side trips! Like New York and Miami! Sooo much fun and he had found really great prices. For this month. I can’t get the time off this month. You see a few weeks ago my store started taking management vacation requests. All of which are of course approved or denied based on advertising, events, department peaks (You run mens? Forget anything within a month of Father’s Day), and seniority. Most everyone has their weeks locked in at this point since Richard and I never talked about it. He thinks that it is a BS program, but it is the program in my place of work. So after he read off the East Coast Dream Vacation plan with timelines, dates, costs, and transportation I had to remind him of my situation. He immediately logged off the sites shouting about my being the one with issues, and him being done wasting time. Wow. Okay, let’s recap my side.. In my company, and industry it is typical for a request for time off to be approved or denied based on the needs of the business. Store managers (which I am not) have the right to add whatever stipulations they like, they are the ones approving. I am not at fault, nor can I change how the man in charge runs his store. But now I am the enemy. I am lame for putting up with that as well as other things at work every day. At any rate, in looking at the chart there are one or two weeks I might be able to get in mid summer. Florida is out because it will be miserable. In fact so will the entire east coast.
I hate traveling anyway. It’s too complicated to get the pets taken care of, and we always come back to a ton of chores. Plus I can never relax. By the time I do it’s time to go home. Meh.
I’d really love to go to New York though. Someday…

The more I think about it, Brazil seems like a great vacation spot.

what's up?
Laura rocks. Thanks doll face! (She knows why…)
What else. Yeah. Vacation is over. work tomorrow. I am on the 9 to 6. Wish me luck people. I need it. Really.
Saw two more movies tonight. The Exorcism of Emily Rose and the latest Harry Potter. Harry Potter was as good as I thought it’d be. I mean, I never read the books, and I find the movies to be a lot of fun. Emily Rose was amazing. I loved it. I used to read everything occult I could as a child, and I found the entire thing fascinating. Richard thought it was creepy, but enjoyed the courtroom drama. I’d say the Blockbuster">Blockbuster was quite good to us tonight.
Did I mention that I finished my book this week too? I was reading the entire Chronicles of Narnia, for once getting caught up before the movie. That was a lot of fun. I had remembered reading them, but nothing about them. It’s really a good story if you like that kind of thing.
Whew! I guess I’m letting my inner nerd out tonight. Sorry ‘bout that!

what's up?
And it’s gorgeous! I haven’t been this tan in years. Vacation can do you good. Even the bad butt (I swear it’s the best diet since mono…). So yeah, I am home! I love it! I love living here! Richard has been saying how he could just up and move to Mexico for the last week, but I am sorry, he may have to go alone. I was soo happy to get back into my own country with my water standards and my non-smoking laws (CA), my plumbing that can handle the flushing of my paper… all of it!
Anyway, it’s very very late. I want to thank all my guests here at danielphillip.com for their love and attention. It was so great to be honored with posts from the lovely Lisa, glamourous Goldie, and yummy Jesse (you go!) while I was off on my exotic adventure. I know I complained about the trip here, but this was my only outlet for bitching. I really had a wonderful time. It was our first non-group vacation, and we loved it… and oohh the pictures. We have never taken 60 whole pictures in one trip before! I will post a couple… maybe.
In the meantime, please enjoy the latest video from the Gay Pimp: Lookin’ Cute, Feelin’ Cute. via Towleroad. BTW, it’s a fun CD. buy it here.
