I actually bought new jeans. I hate shopping for jeans, but I stuck it out.

And, they’re Levi’s. I have never owned Levi’s.

My three day weekend has come to a close. Sigh. I am always so upset when my personal time is over… I think because it’ll be 2 weeks before I get two days off in a row again. Bah. Retail.

Anyhoo, what an action packed three days it was! First, on Saturday was our super glamorous BBQ. That was BLAST! I do however, have one lesson that was re-learned. Alcohol is a very dangerous drug. But I wasn’t driving anywhere, so yeah. The next day, after the big party was when we decided to go and price real patio furniture. We never do things in order around here! It was a fruitless journey. Patio furniture is damn expensive people! I did finally get to see the Westfield Shopping Mall at University Town Center. It’s nice enough. I mean, a mall is a mall and a Westfield Mall is a Westfield Mall. Right?

That brings us to today. It was all about getting into the gym and being active! I was up pretty early and actually saw the inside of my 24 Hour before noon. Everything was pretty much the same, I was just surprised to be there that early. Later I met up with my good friend Fred for some geocaching. I am still at that ‘tag-along’ stage. I need to get past that and get registered at Geocaching.com. At least then I’d get credit for all these caches I help find. I really want a GPS tho… Of my very own.. But not until after I get an iPhone. Heh.

OMG and I also drove by the Q and saw how packed the American Idol auditions were! I can’t even wait till the next season…

Can anyone help me out with a technological type piece of shopping advice? I am in the market for a better digital voice recorder. However when I peruse the choices I am easily confused… How do you know which one is better? Here’s what I want. High quality MP3 recordings, USB, portable, 2-3 hours recording time… Preferably with a decent built in mic so that there’s less parts to lug around. Anyone have any recommendations? (Other than the iRiver, because I can’t find those anywhere.)

I was off for 5 days and I havn’t written a decent post in all that time! I suck! Or… maybe I get more motivation from work that I thought. Hmm. Interesting to think about, especially since I have stopped writing about work so much, other than Member Only Content.. I mean Dooce, anyone? Right. Exactly my point. So then why would I have more to say during a normal work week? Maybe because we haven’t done much in the last 5 days.

Friday was spent shopping for new fish and blogging about Anna Nicole. On Saturday we went to the gym and went shopping for potential wall decor for when we redo the bedroom (1 more week till new furniture!). I also couldn’t stop saying ‘Pickle Surprise!’... Then we rented movies. Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Black Dahlia, Strangers With Candy, and Night Listener. We saw Hedwig and Strangers that night. I LOVED, LOVED Hedwig!! I even watched it a second time right there.. OCD much?

Anyway… where was I? Sunday.. Erm, more shopping? That night we saw Night Listener. I really enjoyed that one, though I am not always a Robin Williams fan… Then what? Oh! Monday! What did we do Monday? Hang on, I have to think.. Oh yeah! We actually went somewhere! Well, first it was off to the gym. You seeing a trend here? Then we dressed up cute and headed up the freeway to La Jolla! It was a crisp and clear day. Perfect for looking at the shops in a coastal town! Shopping. Again. Sheesh! But we did buy something that day! A monkey! It matches the lion and giraffe Richard already has in his collection of beaded animals from Africa. When we got home we settled in for Black Dahlia. Awesome movie BTW, but confusing. Then it was regular Monday programing… Today was more gym, more shopping, and yeah. Looking back, I never realized I’d do so much ‘shopping’ with no buying! It feels weird.

All in all a good long weekend. No drama, no stress. Just nice.

You are out shopping, trying to enjoy the day when all of a sudden you almost walk right into someone from your past that you’d rather not see?? Then you turn away fast, hoping not to be seen, then you look back and see that he’s doing the same thing! How rude!

Okay, that title is totally recycled from the ones that appear as I type. It holds true here. I have had a whirlwind of days off! It all started yesterday…

*cue 90210 soundtrack*

I was up late , as I had just worked four closing shifts in a row followed by an open. Those who have worked retail totally feel me on this one! Anyway, so I was up at 11ish and was going to get together with the Betty for an hour or two as I needed to go to Fry's’s. Have you been there? OMG. It could be it’s own post, and for a wannabe geek like me, sigh. I was in heaven. But we were going there with a purpose. I needed a headset for the Skypes. Yes, Skypes. I am going to need to use the Skypes for my up and coming podcast with Shel. But that again, could be it’s own post filled with technological issues.

Anyhoo, where was I? Oh, so I picked up Betty in the convertible and her new hairdo was getting a bit mussed by the wind. She clearly needed a scarf. We immediately thought of Target, but they had no scarves. I think we just wanted to stop at the Target. We were going to give up but then Betty thought of Ross. Ross Dress For Less. After some illegal and somewhat dangerous driving we arrived at the Ross. I should have waited in the car. The place smelled like ass! However there were so many scarves, and we were quite happy to get in line with a hot little Jones Wear number. We waited in that line for 15 minutes and saw more stupidity than we thought possible in such a short time span. Then we were back on track with the original mission. Fry's’s. Looking much more stylish we hit the road again. I think there was a Starbucks stop in there too. There usually is.

I think I already gave my impression of the Fry's’s so we’ll skip to dinner. Which we only got to have because her husband had to work late…

You saw the moblog.. Dinner was great. On The Border doesn’t have the best food but it makes it up with ambiance and great service! Oh, and COLORING! And hot bikers as you leave, but I think that was more for Betty. We weren’t in the gayborhood after all…

It was on the way to drop Betty off that we began plotting about the following day..

Which brings us to today! My man and I were both off, and we had to start our day at Fry’s *sigh with love*. I had to return that headset that I got. My computer did not have the right plug holes to use it. I am going to have to save up for the USB model at more than twice the price… Anyway, so we did that, then met Betty at the zoo! But no zoo for us today. We moseyed over to the Balboa Park. We walked. Betty played photographer… We almost went into museums. Then we stopped off at The Prado for cocktails, iced tea, and people watching. It proved to be hours of fun. Then Betty brought my man back to her place to check on her bull dogs before we all met back at my house for dinner and a movie. Of course we treated her to one of our favorites! Death Becomes Her.

Dessert was served and then we said goodbye. Good thing she is only 4 miles away! It was late!

And that sums up my days off. Go Team Betty!

Richard and I met Mom for a big day in San Francisco yesterday for my birthday! Yay! How old? Way too old. Yuck. The three of us had a great time!

We had cocktails here, then shopping. Of course a fabulous meal. More drinks! Then mom went home. Then Richard got romantic, check out “the view”....Wow!!
