V.D. - A Poll
lunchtime poll

Many people enjoy the romance of Valentine’s Day and go to great lengths to celebrate. Others find it totally torturous that a day exists. Some just like the candy. Heh. I myself am somewhere in the middle. It depends if my work schedule allows me to celebrate (this year it doesn’t). I actually moved in with Richard on Valentine’s Day. Isn’t that cute? I do have to wonder why, as retail folk, we ended up with the 2 most relationship defining events on holidays. It is so hard to get time off!

Anyhoo, I was wondering. How are y’all celebrating V.D. this year?

50 Ways…
link-tastic!

A handy list to romance your partner this Valentine’s Day:

Write “I love you” in the steam on the bathroom mirror after he takes a shower.

Offer a back massage with some good smelling lotion.

Write a poem. Then use Google Translator to translate a poem into either French or Italian. Then handwrite it out with the translation on the back side. Or better yet, greet your partner at night and read it to them with passion and then hand them the translation.

While in public, declare “I love you, Matilda!” (not Matilda, but your partner’s name.)

Make a CD with a few songs that are meaningful to your relationship.

Invite him to take a bath complete with bubbles, champagne, candles, and maybe a little Barry White. (the music, not actually Barry White in your tub.)

Surprise her at work and take her out to lunch, maybe take-out food in the park or maybe to a little diner, for a midday romantic interlude.

Today
aw, lovemaking a livingwhat's up?

Today was a long day. I was probably more stressed this morning than I had been in a long time. It was the day of the big “visit” thing at work. My role was to lead a group of my superiors around my AOR covering information that they are probably already well aware of. My allotted time was over an hour. Over an hour! I thought I was going to have a heart attack. My previous position required no such presentations. It has been 7 years since I had to be on like that.

But I did it. My boss said I did it well. That made me feel good. Other aspects of the event did not make me feel good. A little unsure actually. But I am still employed. So I guess that’s something. Heh.

On my way home I figured I’d pick up dinner. Richard had been saying that he’s tired of Mexican, but really it’s all I know. I always feel like Mexican… So I stopped for some Mexican takeout near my workplace. As I was leaving the place with my yummy meal in tow I spied a flower shop. I decided to buy my man a rose. No reason. His birthday has passed. Today wasn’t really special. It was just because. I drove home with a smile.

I don’t know what I expected. All I know is that I was very excited for Richard to come home so I could give him the flower. When he finally arrived his reaction totally disappointed me. Like I said, I don’t know what I expected. Did I think he’d tear up? Or fall into my arms in a passionate embrace? Not really. But I thought there’d at least be a moment. You know, a moment.. I got nothing like that. A peck and a thank you. That was all. Then he propped it up in a corner and changed his clothes.

Huh. I think he appreciated the dinner more, even though he’s “tired of Mexican”.

Is it tomorrow yet? I am done with today.

YouTube Romance

I was trying to think up something to say. I mean, this is just the cutest thing! And romantic!  *sigh* It’s this guy with a crush on this other guy on the YouTubes. He goes after him online with a series of videos.

Aww! I’ll put another after the jump, but you have to see them all! So adorable… Thanks goes to Fred for the tip.

Well That Was Fast
what's up?

But I am thrilled! My favorite boys are working it out! Or never broke up… Who cares! They are still together!

Lance Bass and boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl have made up and are set to go to romantic Hawaii to celebrate. “They are back together and very happy,” a close friend of Lance’s says, just six days after the former *NSync-er and his boyfriend said they were going their separate ways. The pair had planned to go to Monday’s charity luau for Reef Check Hawaii on Waikiki Beach, but Reichen pulled out following Friday’s split. Now though, the one-time Amazing Race contestant has changed his plans and confirmed he will be going - as Lance’s partner

Tech Trouble, Podcast # 18
it's a podcast!

So here we are after a long week. Sure it’s Wednesday to you, but for us retail folk it’s a new week just starting as we head face first into another holiday shopping weekend. Ugh. So if I seem a little down you’ll know why. Plus, I think I have a cold. Heh. Aren’t I fun?

In this podcast I bitch about a few things: Tech trouble and the Missouri Power Outage, my own power outage in San Diego, my cell phone problems, Target and their dirteh food, Lance and Reichen’s break-up (i said fiction instead of non-fiction tho. loser!), and my personal efforts to spread cheer across the internets with a sassy and personalized holiday Card.

Use the contact page if you want me to send a card. Hollar.

Dear Internets, (A Poll)
lunchtime poll

I have a question. It is of a rather delicate nature, and as such it is not a ‘click here’ response. I want to know, in your own words (as in comments)...

What is your idea of romance? What do you consider romantic? Is it an action? Words? Ambiance? Lay it on me kids… It’s a lunchtime poll!
