As always, I am not home for American Idol on Thursdays. Sad, I know. So here’s the dish from MSNBC (the first AI news result on the Google):
The last two singers selected to be among the 24 semifinalists were among the first to be eliminated, as “American Idol” began the unpleasant business of whittling down the larger group on Thursday’s results show.
On last week’s selection show, Joanne Borgella became the final woman picked to sing this week, and Colton Berry the 12th man. But ultimately, all that bought them was an extra week, as the viewing audience heard them sing, looked at the telephone, and then went to bed instead of calling in their votes. Full Story
Eliminated:
Garret Haley
Amy Davis
Joanne Borgella
Colton Berry
Not too sad about any of them, but I did think that Colton and Joanne would have lasted a bit longer. I am kinda over Chikeze already tho but he made it. Maybe next week…
I sooo hate missing these. Thanks to my tweethearts on Twitter for trying to keep me in the loop while I was working. Sadly, I never made it back to my phone to see what happened. Bah. Anyhoo, I got home and went to a new SYTYCD rescource, Blogging So You Think You Can Dance. It’s a blog after my own heart!
We’ll be down to the top 12 after tonight’s results show. Losing just about anybody is going to hurt, as it has already this season. Expected to be clearly safe tonight are Pasha & Sara, and Dominic & Sabra. All bets are off after that, though Neil & Lauren polled a surprisingly strong 16% of the vote in our poll.
As I read, I got nervous. The way they wrote their post was very live blogging-style. And you know how I love my new Twitter BFF / SYTYCD contestant Jaimie. As I read on I got some bad news. Bad news, people! She actually went to the Bottom Three. *gasp*
I know. I am still pulling myself together. Don’t worry. She’s safe. We lost Cedric and Shauna tonight. Cedric, sure I saw that coming. But Shauna?? Was she the most deserving of the axe? I don’t know…
But our JaimieG is safe!!
I am Google’s #3 result for SANITARY NAPKIN PORN. Notice the all-caps. Not mine. That’s how they searched. Like they were shouting. Shouting for sanitary napkin porn! Ew.
I need to wash. I feel dirty.
And we forgot to put out the veggie tray. A house full of the gay boys and we only offered carbs. Carbs people!! I am so embarrassed. I hope no one noticed.
All in all it was a great night. I really enjoy everyone that came over. Somehow the good company helped us through the hard times in the American Idol Finale. Like the parts when that Taylor person sang. Must they force him at us like that? Sheesh. As we all now know, Miss Jordin Sparks prevailed. Not a surprise. I kinda figured, but I am still a ‘Blaker Girl’ yo. Blake’s just a great entertainer, and cute. AND did you see his package? Wow.
But seriously. The performances tonight were either bad or amazing. Some of the singing was better than during the competition. Even San-gina did an okay job! I did think it was odd that they paraded around the losers like that though. Was it just me or does it seem pathetic? And poor Ruben.. He hasn’t been on the radio like at all since he won. Weird.
Anyhoo. I am running out of American Idol stuff to say. I will end it on this. The viewing party idea is amazing. We got together once a week for the performances. It was casual. No pressure, skip if you needed, host when you could. People took turns. What a great way to work a regular social event into your calendar. An added bonus, not a lot of prep. Most people have already had dinner… Perfect for the gal on the go, or busy families! Do it!
