A Sex Question
•
lunchtime poll
I read an interesting post today. It involved sexuality, gender roles, and posed a question. Straight or gay, to me, the basic question is about sexual attraction. Are you attracted to masculinity/femininity or do you just need the right parts? Although of course it can go deeper than that. Sexuality can be very complex.
Sure it’s not at all work safe. In fact, you may be either offended or even grossed out if you click through… But I invite you to check it out. Then tell us anonymously: Do you pick A or B? I will provide a choice C, but you’ll have to justify it in comments.. I’ll leave my answer after the jump.
For me, well… this was not so tough. (But then I imagined meeting these two in a bar, fully clothed, because that is more likely than seeing them all naked with their genitals all akimbo...) I like a manly man. A man that looks and smells and feels like a man. To me that’s the whole point. That’s what rev’s my engine long before we even get to the plumbing involved. So I think that I would have more to stimulate me with choice A. How far that stimulation would go is another story… I mean proper tools are gonna be needed at some point, I would think…

Dude, It’s April Fools!
•
lunchtime poll
April Fools’ is one of those days that I have a love-hate relationship with. I am sooo glad I am not at work today. A few years back at my other job the associates all slowly turned in resignations all day. The first 15 minutes of that was torture because it was so believable the way they did it. Then yeah, it was just funny. I think it was nice that they cared enough to ‘fool’ me, but really I hated it. My earliest memory of an April Fools’ joke was one my father pulled on my mom. She was at work. I think it was her first time back in the work-force since me and my brother had been birthed and junk. Anyway, my father called her in an absolute panic and told her the fish tank had fallen over. Hilarity ensued. My poor mother. She is still pissed aboot that.
So do you ‘fool’ the kids on April Fools’ Day?

Bad Blogger, Pimped And Plugged

what's up?
Can you believe I sluffed off Idol tonight? What the hell? I have never done that in the whole.. erm, one year I have been Idol blogging. I am shamed. Yet kinda glad. That is like so much work. Sure I was at the computer all night as it was, but it was nice to take a night off from that. Of course the other half of me is saying ‘but it’s so early in the season’. Blah blah blah. I think once a week is plenty, if I can get Pandora to sign off on taking the girls night, all the better.
So what was I doing? Well for one thing, taking that poll off the top. I was gonna do it earlier today but I was busy.. f*cking Matt Damon. Totally, and no I wasn’t pretending it was you. There is still time to get your vote in if you like. You remember the question? No? It was who would you rather f*ck (with an asterisk, just like that. It’s dirtier.) Matt Damon or Ben Affleck. I know. Tough question. So while you digest that, let me just tell you…
I was PIMPED! I love it. Now we have always known I can be a bit of a blog whore. Heh. But this time I was pimped live! Plugged! At least I think that is what you call it when you hear it LIVE. Yup. I was pimped and plugged by Jester. All kidding aside (tho I hope it was good for you too) Jester has been blogging since forever and has started up his own radio show type podcast thing over on the Blog Talk Radio. It was fun for me to listen in, as I used to live up in ol’ NoCal and Jester and what’s-his-bucket mentioned a lot of my old stomping grounds like Faces in Sacramento… Aw, memories! Oh, and ew, memories.. Depending on the night. Sheesh. I am glad I survived those days. Anyhoo, thanks for the pimping and plugging yo!

what's up?
Well back to reality I guess. It was a good couple of days off. Sleeping in, getting caught up on chores, going out to dinner, the zoo, last night’s fancy home cooked meal. *sigh* I wish I were off today too… Okay, time to stop whining and finish getting dressed.
Hey! Should I leave the poll at the top one more day? Have you voted?

F*cking Matt Damon
•
lunchtime poll
At this point we have all seen the Sarah Silverman (I lover her!) video about f*cking Matt Damon. (Why can’t I just type fucking? What’s my damage?) Anyway, now Jimmy Kimmel has posted his response, ’I’m f*cking Ben Affleck‘. It’s hilarious too. And so many celebs got in on it… totally funny. But it got me wondering. Who would you rather f*ck? Matt Damon or Ben Affleck?
(gay or straight, boy or girl, just play along. it’s a rhetorical thing… right?)

V.D. - A Poll
•
lunchtime poll
Many people enjoy the romance of Valentine’s Day and go to great lengths to celebrate. Others find it totally torturous that a day exists. Some just like the candy. Heh. I myself am somewhere in the middle. It depends if my work schedule allows me to celebrate (this year it doesn’t). I actually moved in with Richard on Valentine’s Day. Isn’t that cute? I do have to wonder why, as retail folk, we ended up with the 2 most relationship defining events on holidays. It is so hard to get time off!
Anyhoo, I was wondering. How are y’all celebrating V.D. this year?

Holiday Party (A Lunchtime Poll)

I am uninvited. Or more clearly NOT invited…
...by one of Richard’s friends. A person that we had invited to OUR party. Well now I think this person should be UNinvited to ours if I am unwelcome at theirs. Richard doesn’t want to stoop to their level. I have no problem stooping… (If you are a member, log in for more details) What would you do?

My Panties Are Showing… (A Lunchtime Poll)
•
lunchtime poll
Okay they aren’t really. But that is how it always feels when a REAL LIFE friend reads my blog. I mean, I got no secrets. I don’t. It’s ALL out there. Trust. However, I was a different person three years ago. And yes the archives go that far back. Further by now. Do I really want folks prying that deep that I see on a regular basis face to face? Weird, right? Who thinks of these things? But it happens…
You have to understand. My blog started at a time when I had no friends outside of work. Well, I had a few, but you see what I am saying. I had whittled my social circle to a very select few. (Granted, it was on purpose.. but still) I blogged to get my shit out there. I missed the socializing, I was jealous of the folks I saw online with this semi-anonymous outlet of fabulousness. So I got one. Sure over time, and not as much time as you’d think, I had a handful of online friends. It was cool. Safe. I’d never be face to face with these people, right? So I could continue to write about anything. The guy at the gyms BO, or the slut on the BART train, or my boss, even my boyfriend. Anything went! It was all good. But the more time you spend on this amazing place we call the internet, the more entwined with your life it gets. At least in my experience. My blog has given me an amazing gift. Real friends. I have actually met real people through this silly site of mine! Moving is the biggest example tho. Uprooting my whole life to San Diego was not easy. I lived in the same area for most of my life. I was comfortable. When I moved, my online life became more important. These online folks where the only folks I knew! When I got to San Diego and already had a few connections I felt lucky. Heck, I knew Fred before I got here! The blog and me started to become one. Not creepy like, but because it was no longer a separate outlet. It was reality. It was where I lived with my new real-ish and actual friends.
I lately find myself in a new situation. I have been here long enough, and the branches of the first friendships have grown into new friends. But now I am a ‘blogger’. Folks know this about me, due to my roots in this town (total drama phrasing, but how else do I describe it?), they meet me, then my blog. My Richard has a blog now too! We are both online with our life! Thus, my title and issue. My panties are showing. People I know in REAL LIFE are going to my blog and jumping into the dp.com time machine. Reading me. It’s a bit intimate all of a sudden. Does that make sense? I don’t know if I like it. I mean, the front page is fine. I think, looking at my posts lately, that I am filtering. Heck, I may as well send my folks the URL, I am so filtered… Not that that is a good thing. I know. The beauty is the lack of a filter. I get that. That’s why I have the members only content. BUT I now have REAL LIFE folks as members too. And how do you exclude those folks, that can question you during dinner about your latest hidden post??
I don’t know. Where am I going with this? What is my point? If hundreds and thousands of people I never met have access to my insanity, why not 10 folks I actually know and can touch? What is the difference? The folks I know won’t (or had better not!) judge. I am the type of person they keep company with after all. Heh. I guess I just got spoiled with it being a separate place in my life. Now dp.com is pretty close to home.
What do you think? Should I try to separate the blog from life, or go forward from here and embrace the change?

There’s a new version of the Apple web browser Safari. It’s Safari 3 Public Beta. I downloaded it today. It has some nifty new features. I feel more productive already! The best part is that now it’s available for Windows too. Windows people rejoice! I am anxious to hear how it works compared to the Mac version.
So how about it Windows people? Do you think you’ll give Safari a try on your machine?
