Tonight I met a good friend, for the first time.
Weird right? I thought so too. I have been reading him off and on since about 2003, which is about right since he’s been on and off line for even longer than that. We have been chatting back and forth for a while now, long distance… he is in Canada! We seemed to get along famously and decided to try and hatch a podcast together. Due to technological issues, mostly on my end it had never happened, so far. But now tonight.. we talked on the Skype for the first time. That’s right. Sheldon and I have officially spoken.
Although the conversation was awkward, I mean in that I know you but I totally do not know you way, it went well. I even recorded part of it. Now if I could just relax…
Oh, and figure out my ‘levels’. Apparently I blew out his eardrum. When I fixed that I was muted… and so the recorded parts are not podcast worthy… which is fine. I mean, we need to get a rhythm going or something first, right? A rhythm? Isn’t that what they say?
Anyhoo, just for fun… Here’s the beginning, where I made him deaf.
Okay, so in this one Betty and I went on an adventure! I used my voice recorder so there ARE, as usual… quality issues. I think you’ll see hear that we had a very good time.
Mentioned: Betty, food, oxygen, beer, and there were llamas! not mentioned… but pictured at Betty’s!
So this one is pretty experimental. We bought a RCA branded voice recorder. I know.. the iRiver is recommended. I already have an iPod for my MP3 player so I figured we’d give this a go! Sure the quality kinda sucks, but it works well otherwise. Besides, you could always tell if it was a mo-cast. LOL. I got that one from Shel.
Mentioned: neighbors, Fafarazzi, dinner, seasonal drinking, holiday decor, goddamn hoors, and a lot of blathering on about nothing…
Could I possible ramble more? I mean really kids… Don’t bother listening to this one! Will someone give me something to talk about!?
Just kidding! I keeeed! Really.
Kinda.
Mentioned: VCR’s (remember those) cable TV, that commercial with the twins, Betty, Richard, Fafarazzi, death, time zones… and more! (Plus! My chair still squeaks!)
This is the one where I ramble and say “umm” a lot. Also mentioned: squeaky chair, Fafarazzi.com. and Betty! Also some random bits from the hard drive.
(Could I sound more stoopid? Seriously. I need to get over the shy factor here.)
CROSS-POSTED from Stale Betty since dp.com was down.
Daniel here. I have hi-jacked the Betty Network tonight. I don
I am lazy as hell. It is just EASIER to talk at my blog. So I sound like an alien from planet gay! I will figure that out later… In the meantime, blah, blah, BLAH!
zesty
All right kiddies, clearly I need a few things before this becomes a regular gimmick. First and foremost, a more confidant tone… Secondly, a real microphone that I can wander around in would be nice. Finally, I think perhaps a co-host? (Shel? You almost caught up at work so we can iron out the last details?)
Okay, that title is totally recycled from the ones that appear as I type. It holds true here. I have had a whirlwind of days off! It all started yesterday…

I was up late , as I had just worked four closing shifts in a row followed by an open. Those who have worked retail totally feel me on this one! Anyway, so I was up at 11ish and was going to get together with the Betty for an hour or two as I needed to go to Fry's’s. Have you been there? OMG. It could be it’s own post, and for a wannabe geek like me, sigh. I was in heaven. But we were going there with a purpose. I needed a headset for the Skypes. Yes, Skypes. I am going to need to use the Skypes for my up and coming podcast with Shel. But that again, could be it’s own post filled with technological issues.
Anyhoo, where was I? Oh, so I picked up Betty in the convertible and her new hairdo was getting a bit mussed by the wind. She clearly needed a scarf. We immediately thought of Target, but they had no scarves. I think we just wanted to stop at the Target. We were going to give up but then Betty thought of Ross. Ross Dress For Less. After some illegal and somewhat dangerous driving we arrived at the Ross. I should have waited in the car. The place smelled like ass! However there were so many scarves, and we were quite happy to get in line with a hot little Jones Wear number. We waited in that line for 15 minutes and saw more stupidity than we thought possible in such a short time span. Then we were back on track with the original mission. Fry's’s. Looking much more stylish we hit the road again. I think there was a Starbucks stop in there too. There usually is.
I think I already gave my impression of the Fry's’s so we’ll skip to dinner. Which we only got to have because her husband had to work late…
