what's up?
Got your attention didn’t I Fred?? Heheheh.
Sorry, I know the internets hate an inside joke, so I’ll explain… Fred hosted the ‘Gay Superbowl’ Oscar event and actually did a marvelous job of it. It reminded me of the tasteful parties we’d experienced up north by the one and only cruise director Charleen. That means it was good yo. The food, the wine, mmmm. The company was good too.
First of all I need to say that my own Fred, the first person I met in San Diego, well… He knows a bit of everything. I am still amazed by the variety of topics he is knowledgeable in. Wow. Tim and Jae were there, a charming couple we met through Fred. Daniel arrived later. How handy that I didn’t have to learn a new name! Then there were the Oscar dresses. Yikes! I am sure others are covering the good and bad so I’ll shush up about the opinions we had.. heh. “Is that actual Muppet fur???”
LOL
The Oscar Winners.
At any rate, it was a great night. I like my San Diego peeps yo. But I did an extra half hour of cardio today and I have to be up sooo early tomorrow.. goodnight.

Well we are off to an Oscar party tonight… I usually tire quickly of the awards so it’ll be good to have folks around to entertain me! Heh!
Are you watching?

what's up?

Well, I have to say. I am up much later than I ought to be, but I had a great evening. You see, about a week ago I had received this email from my friend Fred:
Hey Everyone,
We’re trying to start a holiday tradition, and we want you all to share the begining with us. The tradition revolves around the annual playing of “Tuna Christmas”. Now don’t worry that you don’t know what that is. Just be aware that it is the perfect example of a ‘White Christmas’ you can ever imagine; okay, its more of a White Trash Christmas. Its similar to Sordid Lives, with a Christmas theme.
With lines like:
“She had them screaming like White Trash at a Tent Meetin’!”
“Her hair was always thin enough you could count it.”
“Virgil, Virgil! Don’t grab them sheep there, that’s why they charge!”
and my personal favorite
“Welcome to DeeDee Snavely’s Used Guns and Ammo, if we can’t kill it it’s immortal.”
Your sides will be sore from laughter, and spirites warmed by good company.
Umm. My first thought was Tuna Christmas?? But then I was talking to Richard and realized… we never take up an invitation to GO somewhere. So as hectic as retail Christmas is, we RSVP’d a solid yes. So tonight after we had both napped and freshened up we trecked across town. What a great time! We met new people. We had egg nog martini’s. Of course we watched A Tuna Christmas. It was everything Fred had said and more. Pretty funny, and some amazing acting, considering all roles are played by the same 2 men. Heh. Like Vera here, isn’t she crazy?
It was nice to get out. Everyone was really cool, and I think I was only a little awkward and quiet. Fred is really great at managing a social setting. I think he was involved in every conversation! Anyway, we had to rush right out after the movie? Or is it a play? Well, we had to leave as tomorrow is another early day. And by early I mean Richard has to literally wake up for work in 2 hours. It’s 11:30 now. In fact, I’ll be up an hour after him… I should go.. to.. bed.

thoughts i had
I am at a loss here. Something is up with me. I have been thinking about it for a few days too. Usually in December I get depressed and angry. I resent my job and write bitchy things about selfish people shopping on my blog. Right? Remember last year? Well this year feels different so far. I don’t know why. (Well I was kinda upset when my blog broke, but that was different. Totally isolated.)
There are a few positives… I am digging my holiday decor in the house. It’s only the second year in a row where we have put up a tree and all that. We had boycotted for a number of years. This year I really like it! Another odd difference this year is that work hasn’t been bad at all. Actually, aside from the extended work hours junk it has been fun! I think we have put and continue to put in a higher level of planning. That combined with the larger investment of time has made it pretty smooth so far. Nice!
I also just kinda feel festive. I keep waiting for the crash, for my mood to really sour but it hasn’t. I have holiday music playing for a bit each day. When I get home I hurry to turn on the tree. I don’t even care that I desperately need a haircut!
Weird.
I also think I am gonna leave the decorations up for an extra week and throw a post holiday party. Well, not a party as much as a open house where people can cruise in and out as they go about their day. No pressure of carving out time for a party for the guests, and no pressure of a full house all at once for us. Heh.
See, this behavior is unlike me. December is strange this year.
