Good News On American Idol
•
pop culture
She’s gone:
Country crooner Kristy Lee Cook, a frequent visitor to the American Idol bottom three, finally lost the numbers game in the voting announced on this week’s results show. Syesha Mercado and Brooke White had the next two lowest vote totals, but will return to the competition next week, when the mentor will be Phantom of the Opera composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
After her elimination, Kristy Lee playfully planted herself on the judges’ table right in front of frequent nemesis Simon Cowell, serenading him with her farewell performance of Mariah Carey’s ‘’Forever.’’
Ugh. Good riddance.
And what the hell with Ryan taunting us with the safe or not bit? Where were the stools? The couches? Bitch.

American Idol Wk. 6 Results Show

Do you know what sucks? Writing your whole post and having your browser crash. I think that has happened to me once before. Us Mac users are just NOT prepared for that sort of thing… *hates*
Anyway. Crap. Where was I?
Drama, drama, drama. These American Idol results shows are just too much. The buildup. The group song (always kinda lame), the recording studio montage which was really an iTunes commercial. The Ford commercial. The previous Idol runner up singing. Stool, sofa, sofa, sofa, sofa, stool. Gah! The tension! I love it! The official bottom 3 was Syesha, Chikezie, and Jason. (Has anyone else noticed Jason’s really tight jeans every week? Just curious...) So wait, we are keeping Kristy Lee Cook? *gouges ears*
Wow. Chikezie is going home. See? I am always wrong. This last time I didn’t mention even one of these folks. Heh.

American Idol Wk. 6

American Idol… From my bed. LOL. Okay, so far Ramiele kinda ruined that Heart song, and Jason did a Sting song. Ugh. Jason. I keep waiting for him to do Smelly Cat for cry-eye… Syesha next. Now this is promising! Randy loves it, stellar even. Paula thought it was brilliant. Simon is more critical. Ouch.
(Side note: I miss skipping comercials...)
And we’re back with Chikezie. If Only For One Night. I like it. But Randy is picky tonight… He didn’t love it. Paula disagrees, she liked it. Simon thought the performance was cheesy, unoriginal. Brooke’s turn. She’s weird. I want to like her, but I don’t. She’s doing a Police song. I don’t love it. I think it’s the piano thing. I don’t like when the play instruments. Distracting. Randy thought it was alright. Paula and her drag-queen gloves thinks Brooke is consistent. Simon agrees with Randy.
Another break! Sheesh already…

Michael… Mmm. Another Queen song. He does well with Queen. A medly tho? Huh. Judges? Randy thought it was his best on AI. Paula thought it was his shiny moment. Simon saw “star potential”. (text 5706!!) Carly now. Total Eclipse of the Heart. Oopsie, the back up singer is overpowering her. Randy didn’t love the song choice. Paula liked the end, thinks she can do no wrong. Simon thought she was tense. Something was off. David Archuleta is after the break. I missed the song title. What is this? He sounds good as usual, and it’s NOT a ballad! What is it tho? Randy liked it. Paula loved it. Simon hated the performance and likened it to a theme park performance. LOL. I can totally see that now that he said it!
Okay, I have had this open forever. I need to submit and edit in the rest after… Don’t want to lose what I got so far.
UPDATE: Okay. Back.
Kristy Lee what’s her face is next. I have decided that I hate her. And she is doing Proud To Be An American. Totally locking in a patriotic vote on purpose. Randy and Paula thought she did well. I missed what Simon said. David Cook is last up. Oh. My. Gawd. He was amazing. It took me a minute to catch that it was a Michael Jackson song. Wow. The judges love it. All three. Simon even used the word “amazing”. Heh. I did too!
Okay, I really hope Kristy is gone Wednesday. And Ramiele might be in danger too. But I am always wrong…

American Idol Wk. 5 Results

Oh my gaaawd. Srsly. Wow.
Okay, where to start? It’s so weird to be home to post the results show. I got used to it being on Thursday. So this one, I have to admit… I used the fast forward function on the ol’ DVR. There was just soo stuff. I think we need to cut the results show down to like 30 minutes already. The American Idol Ford commercials are bad enough without the ‘making of’ thrown in. Am I the only one that thinks so?
So the bottom 3 were kinda predictable to everyone but me. Of course Kristy Lee Cook was a no-brainer. But Carly Smithson? Amanda Overmyer? I was shocked. I figured Chikezie or Ramiele maybe… Sheesh. As it turned out, Amanda is going home. Was I wrong! But really tho, Amanda is out and we have Kristy? Ugh. That is retarded. What are the ‘Vote For The Worst’ people up to anyway? (Okay, I just peeked over there and apparently Amanda WAS who they were voting for. OMG. So America really likes Kristy??)

American Idol - More Beatles
•
pop culture
Bah. What can I tell you about American Idol last night? Not doing a one by one run-down as I watch makes it tough. I can say that it overall did not seem like a good night. First off, it was more Beatles. Bah. Not my favorite, and I feel bad for these kids that have to sing songs they have never experienced first hand. Heck, I didn’t even experience them first hand. Anyhoo, David Cook and Amanda Overmyer stood out for me. I thought they were perhaps the strongest of the night. I think the group I was with also enjoyed Carly Smithson. It was hard to tell, cause when you are in a group, if a performance sucked you tended to gab… We talked a lot last night. And Michael Johns’ ass got rewinded and paused. Apparently I am not the only fan. Heh. He did look good tho. Too bad it’s not a hawtness competition.
I still think Kristy Lee Cook has to go next.

Say Goodbye To Stripper Boy…
•
pop culture
Well, that’s it for our little lap dancer David Hernandez on American Idol. I am kinda sad to see him go. I thought that Kristy Lee Cook shoulda got the axe. But what can you do? My local news just said “A juicy backstory wasn’t enough to keep him on Idol” LOL. I can’t believe they said that! Who cares about the stripping for cry-eye!? I think the gay angle in the story was what hurt more than the stripping… I doubt the gays get many of the teenage girl votes, yanno? I could be wrong tho…

American Idol Wk. 3 Results…
•
pop culture

Getting voted off on ‘American Idol’ is never a fun experience, but the last of the three semifinal rounds is always particularly cruel. Each of the four contestants voted off the show on Thursday was one week away from being one of the 12 finalists. They came within a few moments of a huge chance to develop a fan base, and then had it snatched away while hearing Simon Cowell talk about how they really weren’t all that good anyway.
There were no big shocks among the unlucky this week, which didn’t make it any easier for Asia’h Epperson, Kady Malloy, Luke Menard or Danny Noriega. Full Story

Idol Week 2 Results..
•
pop culture
As always, I am not home for American Idol on Thursdays. Sad, I know. So here’s the dish from MSNBC:
In some ways, Thursday’s “American Idol” results show was the exact opposite of the one from last week.
Last week, the two oldest women were eliminated. This week, it was the two youngest. Two teenagers were the first guys sent packing, while this week a 29-year-old and a very experienced 26-year-old joined them.
But while this week was unkind to a different demographic, the reason for the exits were similar. To stay in, a singer has to stand out. The ones who got cut this week blended in with the crowd, which wasn’t enough to get them the needed fan support. Full Story
More over at Pandora’s and Jester’s…
Eliminated:
Alexandrea Lushington
Jason Yeager
Alaina Whitaker

American Idol - The Girls Wk. 2 (With Help)
•
pop culture
Okay… Big admission. I wasn’t feelin’ Idol tonight. In fact I didn’t even watch it. For one thing, it’s girls night. For another thing, I am gay. And moody. And lazy. Right? Anyhoo, so I wanna thank Pandora in advance for letting me swipe her whole post. I love you girl! Don’t forget that when you see that I did this!! *air kisses*
(all that follows are the words and opinions of Pandora and her Box)
Carly Smithson - Crazy On You
Not bad. I like it. She sounds better this week than last, I think. I like this song on her. Judges?
Randy: Picked a rocker. It was good towards the end. Beginning was rough. A’ight.
Paula: Great to see you are healthy. Fine singer to sing those big notes. Amazing job.
Simon: Much better performance. Panting! You’ve not chosen the right song yet. Other girls can’t touch you vocally. Girl to beat.
Syesha Mercado - Me and Mr. Jones
I like it okay. I like it better than Carly. Hrmm. But just this week. I’m not that fond of - her. I’m not sure why. (I hate the end. That was just unnecessary. Get off the stage, bitch.) Judges?
Randy: Not a great song choice. Pick stuff where you can use what you got. A’ight.
Paula: Fall off pitch when you go into the softer notes. Like the interpretation. Like it.
Simon: Whoopee. Indulgent. Silly thing to have done. Put off. Not a song for your voice. Not a clever choice.

Brooke White - You’re So Vain
Ohhhh, I like this song so much. She’s doing a decent job with it, too. (She plays guitar?! O_o) Like it better than both of the previous girls. Yup. Judges?
Randy: Great song choice. Liked it. Was this about someone at the judges table?
Paula: Perfect song choice for you. Like what you did. Everyone was diggin’ it.
Simon: I absolutely loved it. (Wow!) Perfect song for you. Connected. Sang well. Didn’t sound old fashioned.
Ramiele Malubay - Don’t Leave Me This Way
I don’t like this at all. Ah, that’s why. Disco. (Hear that beat? Disco. Totally.) Meh. I guess she’s doing okay with it. I mean, the girl can sing. I just - don’t like the song itself. Ergh. Judges?
Randy: Really rough for me. Okay for me. Song choice is weird. Wasn’t my favorite choice for you. Keepin’ it real!
Paula: One to beat. Vocals are truly amazing. You didn’t get to perform your magic. (She didn’t like it.)
Simon: Much, much better last week. More personality. Not going to remember this performance so well. Wasn’t one of your best.
Kristi Lee Cook - You’re No Good
Whoops. I was channel surfing and missed the beginning of the song. Damn. I’m so sad. What I’ve heard - it’s a’ight. Just - a’ight. I’m not wowed. Make her go home. (I’m not sure they really liked it. They just said it was better and that the song choice was good. Hrmm.) Judges?
Randy: 100% improvement over last week. No breakout moments. Better song choice.
Paula: You’re back. Good to hear you. Good song choice for you.
Simon: Huge improvement. I don’t know what type of singer you really are. Got potential.
(Seriously? Enough with the commercials after every damn song. Ugh.)
Amanda Overmyer - Carry On Wayward Son
She’s got a really gravelly voice. I’m not sure I dig it. What is with that HAIR?! O_o It’s all - poofy. Like a bad wig! Right. The singing. I was distracted. It’s - a’ight. I mean, yeah. A’ight. It’s not exciting. It’s not really good. It’s just - a’ight. (The end, again, was horrirfic. Ugh.) Judges?
Randy: Wasn’t the right song choice for you. Too many instrumental breaks for a singer. Verses were pitchy.
Paula: Got some moves. Do what fits right. This was not the right song for you.
Simon: Everything felt contrived. Clothes to hair to song. None of it felt real. Couldn’t wait for it to finish. Didn’t get that.
Alaina Whitacker - Hopelessly Devoted to You
Hrmmm. Not - bad. I love this song. (I’m just sappy like that.) I’m trying not to dig it just for the sake of the song. (; But - she is doing a good job with it. I think she picked a good song for herself. I hate the dress. But - I like her with this song. Yeah. Judges?
Randy: Not the right song for you. Verses were pitchy. Wasn’t my favorite for you.
Paula: I think you did a real good job. Wasn’t as bad as Randy says.
Simon: I like you. It’s as if your grandmother prepared you for this audition - hair, dress, song. Pageanty. One of the dark horses. Make yourself relevant.
Alexandrea Lushington - If You Leave Me Now
I don’t like her. I don’t know why. But - just not liking her. Meh. She’s a’ight, I guess. A’ight. I’m not digging the song. And it just seems - bland. Completely bland. Judges?
Randy: So safe. Challenge yourself. Boring choice. (So TRUE, Randy. So True.)
Paula: You let go and you stretched it. You are relevant. Let yourself be.
Simon: You are struggling. Song is absolutely stuck in its time period. You were inconsistent with the song. You looked uncomfortable with the song. It was boring.
Kady Malloy - Magic Man
What the hell is she singing? I can’t hear the lyrics. What the heck. Srsly. (Hey, it’s KG over for a visit again!) I could not understand her at all. Enunciate, woman. Eh. Not even a’ight. I hated it. >__<
Randy: Interesting song choices tonight. Never found the pitch.
Paula: When you powered, you sounded great. On the low notes, you lost a little bit. Let go.
Simon: I'm frustrated. What you do on film is very good. On stage, there isn't anything. Wrong song. 1 million percent.
Asia’h Epperson - All By Myself
It started out a’ight, I suppose. Oh, she flubbed the chorus! All b-vb- by myself! XD She’s really tentative with this song. It’s screwing her up - a lot. Ow. That hurt. Ugh. Painful. I don’t like it. I predict the word pitchy will come up. But - yeah. Tentative and pitchy. That’s my thoughts. Judges?
Randy: Difficult song. Good job with it. (No pitchy? It was! Dammit, it was! >__< )
Paula: Problems in the low parts. (there it is! Randy in the side, pitchy!)
Simon: One of the diva songs of all times. You have to be one heck of a singer to pull it off. Unfortunately, you are not. Song was too big for you. Silly decision.
Okay. The girls were - a'ight. I suppose. They picked some boring songs. Ugh. The boys were better. If the girls don't pick this up, one of the guys is going to win - again. (;
Annnnd /Pandora. See, Pandora? This was fun. It was good! I say next week I’ll do the boys and you do the girls… Deal?? Call me!

Idol Result Show
•
pop culture
As always, I am not home for American Idol on Thursdays. Sad, I know. So here’s the dish from MSNBC (the first AI news result on the Google):
The last two singers selected to be among the 24 semifinalists were among the first to be eliminated, as “American Idol” began the unpleasant business of whittling down the larger group on Thursday’s results show.
On last week’s selection show, Joanne Borgella became the final woman picked to sing this week, and Colton Berry the 12th man. But ultimately, all that bought them was an extra week, as the viewing audience heard them sing, looked at the telephone, and then went to bed instead of calling in their votes. Full Story
Eliminated:
Garret Haley
Amy Davis
Joanne Borgella
Colton Berry
Not too sad about any of them, but I did think that Colton and Joanne would have lasted a bit longer. I am kinda over Chikeze already tho but he made it. Maybe next week…
