I have been dreading changing my tagging setup. I have the current tagging software preferred by my CMS, but I am using it in the old way. Tonight I was going to do something about it, but instead did like 3 other blog things. 2 of which were all new plugins/extensions. I have been adding to and tweaking my code, copying and pasting stuff between templates to make sure it is all hunky dory on all my pages. I have a lot of pages. There’s here, the main site. Then there’s all the individual pages that make up the comments, tags, and individual entry pages. Then there’s the same pages for my holiday skin. Then there’s the podcast page and the vidcast page. Those thankfully use the main comment and individual pages. Then there’s the linkdump site, Link-tastic and all of it’s pages. BUT I totally did it. Go me!
I’m exhausticated. And no, I still haven’t addressed the tagging thing. I think this was my way of putting it off… I swear it’s the most complex thing I have come across for EE.
UPDATE: I tried that new tagging BS again, with more info than last time but now instead of nothing happening, I get error messages AND no tags. I am giving up, putting everything back how it was, and going to bed.

This is a test post for soapbox.SUPERSTAR. We are trying to figure out what my mailing list does. Hahah! Can you believe that no one is on the list??
Erm. Actually I can believe it. I have never signed up for notifications on a blog either. Well, except on accident. You know how some folks have the ‘subscribe to this entry’ box checked by default? I hate that. Anyhoo, here goes…
Oh, BTW. Why don’t you play with us? Go here and join the notify list!
UPDATE: Now I know. Heh.

Okay, so I know Expression Engine 1.6.0 was just released today. I know it’s best to wait to upgrade, to let others de-bug it and junk. Right. You think I waited? Oh no. As soon as I saw it was available I was downloading, then uploading. Oh yeah, babes.
I have only one comment. EE 1.6.0 is sexay!
Now the big question is did I break anything??

What the hell? It’s 3 am! What am I doing up!? Good lawd! I am tagging my blog entries. Yup. Not only that, but I am adjusting my capitalization as well as my formatting from the MT import to EE from all the way back to post #1. I am officially 8.6 percent done. That’s 203 of my 2359 entries. Is that math right? Feels like I should be further along than that. It’s gonna be a task!

And So Then What Happened?

what's up?
I was all set on this tagging thing. Really all set. I bought (bought) the module, read the docs… then got lost. I couldn’t get my head around it. Now I know I am a novice at best, and my understanding of EE as well as my own site (thanks Julie!) let’s me pass for a bit more experienced… but this one threw me for a loop!
At any rate, I have a coding ally in Miss Betty Nicole, and since we had a play date anyway, well she helped out. After an entire afternoon of tweaking, studying, and correcting (the docs *could* be better for the beginner level) we finally got it. And so I present my tag cloud! It will be more meaningful as time goes on. I am NOT going to tag my archives! Well, not ALL of them… but that is just one new feature here at dp.com. Also there has been the ‘Quick Props’. Are you a busy gal always on the go without a lot of time to comment? Now you can just check the box and I will know you thought my post was [fabulous!] via Marie B.

what's up?
Well I had all these things I was gonna write about tonight but my ‘routine’ got in the way. You see, every time I sit down at the computer I have my little ‘routine’. I like to do email, check stats, read blogs, check in on my Vox blog, read Vox blogs, and finish off with the pMachine EE forums. All of which can be taking place while in an active iChat conversation with one or more friends.
Needless to say, today I have forgotten what I was gonna write about. Oops.
There was a Sobriety Checkpoint right outside my mall tonight. I was really glad that it was there, and impressed by how many folks were stopped for further testing.. until I realized that I had to go through it, thus adding ten minutes to my drive home. The officer was really nice though. I think she may have even been a lesbian. Lesbians are so cute! At any rate, we made pleasant banter as she judged me on my sobriety. Nicely done local PD!
But I am up past my target bedtime, so I must say goodnight.
