DST almost ruined my NaBloPoMo! I made my post last night at 11:41 PM but my server thought it was 12:41 AM! Argh!! I hadn’t adjusted my DST!!
I fixed it, but am I out? I can’t be out… Can I? *wonders*

It doesn’t matter that we set all the clocks as soon as we got home. When I woke up to my alarm at 5 AM this morning I knew deep inside that it was really 4. I knew it was 4 AM and I cursed… I hate DST. Every time we go thru this procedure I hate it just a little more.
Spring forward. Fall back. Screw you.
I feel strange this morning.
I woke up around two am and was not able to really fall back to sleep. I think I may have dozed some, but I was definitely looking at the clock every half hour or so. Part of me wanted to use the time to get up extra early and workout. The other part (that won) told me to at least lie still and rest. I am a wreck when I don’t get enough rest…
Ugh. Today has wore me out! But I am in a great mood! Thanks to a certain coworker who agreed to a certain arrangement…
It’s like this: Sunday is a short day with only two manager shifts. You’re either 8-5 or 11:30-8:30. So he came in at two, and I left at two thirty. That’s six and a half working hours each. The only downside is no-one gets a lunch break. So what! He gets a nice Sunday morning with his family. I get to leave early enough for a workout or something.
No workout today, though. I have “jet-lag” from the inane DST bull-crap! I don’t care about some extra hour of sleep six months from now when I feel all wonky now. I have been in some sort of time freeze all day. I swear I lost more than one hour. I was on time for work, but lost track of it all and almost didn’t open for business on time. (looz-er!) Besides, it is hard to monitor peoples’ breaks all day when you have no sense of time!
Anyway, I got home early. It was a nice afternoon of talking to no-one, and doing nothing. Ahh.
Okay, yeah. I am really missing my extra hour right now. Oh well.
One thing I never do is go out for breakfast. I mean I have before, but not in a really long time. This morning I was thinking about that. You know how the server comes by with two coffee pots (caf./decaf.) and offers to “warm up your coffee?” So you say “sure!” and then have to get all busy trying to get your milk and sugar balance right again. I want to go out for breakfast soon.
Mmm, french toast…
What the hell is with Daylight Saving Time? I hate it. Twice every year we screw with our own metabolisms! Gain an hour, lose an hour. It all sucks. I say we set it forward 30 minutes now and leave it the hell alone! Take today for instance: It’s 11:13pm now and I’m not even tired. However I have to be at work at 8:00am which will really feel like/be 7:00am. It’s just not right.
Hate it too? Here’s a site devoted to ending it.
Besides, the time keeping on our planet is not really consistent anyway. According to this site, Arizona and Hawaii (for example) do not even observe DST.
What the ?!?
