Passing
pretty pets

It was very early Monday morning. One or so when Richard woke me up. I had gone to bed as I had an early start at work… He was sobbing, and told me he was going to take Chanel to the vet. He said he had to take him, even though he thought it was too late, or something like that. He was difficult to understand as he rushed out of the room. I called work and left a voicemail that I’d probably be late or missing that day and tried to go back to sleep. I woke again at 6:30 and found Richard sleeping on the couch. He was a mess and clearly hadn’t slept at all. I tried to call work again to confirm that I would not be in. There was no answer. Oh well. I had already left a message. I got Richard to come up to bed and stayed there with him as he sobbed for a while. I had no idea at this point whether the cat had made it or not. After a while Richard slept a bit. But not for long. He was up again at 8. He was checking on Chanel, who was very sick but more stable. There were expensive tests to be done to figure out what was wrong. Each one was a major decision. He cried. A lot.

Impromptu Girls Night
what's up?

So tonight we knew we might have plans with Sheila, we just didn’t know what. After we spoke we decided on Movie Night. Death Becomes Her, a classic we have all seen. Good times, right? Well Sheila showed up with the makings of a Fountain Of Youth Martini. Surprise! Turns out she was able to swipe the menu last night from Martinis, and it listed all the needed ingredients. Just not the amounts… So we began the evening with a taste test of sorts.. till we got it right. Only then did we put on the movie. Heh. Is that the perfect cocktail for that movie or what?? Good times..

I Am Freaking Out!
what's up?

Have you guys seen this? OMFG! I am on someone’s hit list… Or shit list at the very least! All I can do is think… Who did I come into contact with in Miami? I am wracking my brain. I sent this into the local PD and they should have armed cops on watch here soon. I am taking time off work as well.

I just wish there was somewhere else I could go! I totally do not feel safe. Look at this shit!

Who is Daniel Phillip? It’s me! Gah!

Where Will He End Up?
news

The Rev. Jerry Falwell has died, a Liberty University executive said Tuesday. He was 73.

Earlier, the executive said Falwell was hospitalized in “gravely serious” condition after being found unconscious in his office.

Ron Godwin, the executive vice president of Falwell’s Liberty University, said Falwell was found unresponsive around 10:45 a.m. and taken to Lynchburg General Hospital. Godwin said he was not sure what caused the collapse, but “he has a history of heart challenges.”

Perpetuity And Mechanically Seperated Chicken
aw, loveblogginglink-tastic!

So I was about to make another funny, yet easy post. A YouTube video. But then something held me back. You see, I really dislike posting YouTube videos. Sure they are fun, instant, and perfect for when a busy blogger on the go such as myself has less than adequate time to produce quality content. One problem I have discovered. They are not constant. Many of the older YouTube videos I have posted have either been removed or moved. This leaves my sumptuous archives a bit less than satisfying. Yeah. And ugly. The videos are like milk. They seem to expire. This website does not. Your very own dp.com is forever. A constant. Something stable in these unstable times. In fact, [morbid side note] I often grill Richard on how to log in and create posts in the event of my untimely death [/morbid side note]. In another fact, that reminds me. I need to check with my host about perpetual hosting. I mean, The Way Back Machine is great and all, but it limits commenting capabilities. (OMG look how cute I was!) Not to mention it is already missing more than a year. Where did it go?? I *know* I was present in 2003! Anyhoo. So yeah. Perpetual hosting. Let’s get that one figured out yo.

Now that I have let all that out, I still wanna post the video tho.

So I Got The Email When I Came Home
family dramafeelings? me?

Hannah, the family dog, is gone. Apparently her pain was too much. From my father:

Today we did it.  Hannah is no longer with us.  We had a 4pm appointment and we were about ten minutes late.  I held her in my lap on the way to the vets.  We used Adobe Vet in Livermore, by Foster Freeze.  Of course, being Hannah she wouldn’t walk into the office with dignity.  She could always tell when she went to one of those places.

Once again they asked if we wanted to be with her at the end.  They asked a bunch of questions.  I couldn’t even focus my vision, never mind talk.  I declined to stay with her.  Like Freckles, I will not be able to forgive myself for that.  I couldn’t figure a way to say good-by to my best friend.

She was a great dog and a lot of company.  I will miss her.

Waking Up To A Sad Email
family drama

Hannah is the family dog. The note was from my father.

Sorry to have to tell you that the end is close for Hannah.  Most of the muscle in her rear end is gone due to her arthritis.  The worst of it is her kidneys have started to shut down.  The vet says there is not much he can do for her.  Dialysis is an option, but it would have to be almost continuous.  She doesn’t move much and she has started to cough a strange cough.  She will continue to decline rapidly until she dies.  I get sad to think about life without her, but I don’t want her so suffer.  We will put her down when she gets real bad.  I will drag it out as long as I think she is not in constant pain.

I thought you would like to know.
