Yo. Dude. It has been raining up in this town. We here in San Diego are NOT made for rain. Actually we are not ready for anything other than 85 degrees and sunshine. So this rain, thunder, and junk has been CRAZY. Look, we were “rained in”! LOL. Whatevs. So this past Wednesday was a big day in spite of the weather. The big NOH8 Campaign was in town. You know, big photographer, celebs, professional photo, duct tape mouth? YES. So of course with this going on, Richard and I were in. So we planned ahead, got out of work early and braved the weather. WE got to the very HIDDEN location in the gayborhood early enough that there was no wait. The photographer, Adam Bouska clearly adored my Richard. It was like an *eternity* till my turn. And I’ll admit, the white shirt, white backdrop, and tape scared me. I have lighting issues due to my hairline receding and all. And to put tape over my beard (the most loved change I’ve made) left me feeling insecure. So my actual photo may SUCK. I am glad I did it tho. The experience of being Professionally Photographed was amazing. Amazing. The camera, the direction, the flash. Awesome. Plus the cause and all. I hope my photo is awesome, yet I fear… anyhooo here I am just after at Urban Mo’s wondering if I need to build an ark to survive the floods..
So I was waiting to get my haircut today. I should have called ahead to get my name on the list… Anyhoo, so there I was at the Fantastic Sam’s because I am a stylish gal on the go, patiently waiting my turn with Annie the styling goddess. In walks this old woman. She does an odd circle of the waiting area and I noticed almost immediately that the gal was just not right in the head. She was doing a lot of muttering and swearing under her breath. Something about the place being “unclean” and “slovenly”. Yes, slovenly. She of course took a seat right nearby! Yay! So there we were waiting and the old gal just kept on with her diatribe, this time trying every now and then to engage me as she gestured at the closest stylist. “You chop it up boy, you chop it real good for him.” At this point I decided that it was best to engage my coffee. Scary… She made a few other colorful racist sounding remarks as well as revisiting the whole “unclean” thing. Luckily it was my turn. As I rushed to safety behind the counter she really got into it with the closest stylist. He was in mid-haircut but paused long enough to somehow get her out the door. I wish I could have heard what he said! All I know is that as the crazy old gal left she turned and said “That’s right. I got your number, and you have mine!”
It sounded like a threat. Oh boy!
What is oozing out of our ground..?

While I was watching TV tonight (enjoying the new table, yet still unsure about the pillows) I happened to look out the window. Now I had never noticed this before, and maybe it was just the cleaner glass, but I could see pretty clearly into the upstairs window of someone on the next street back from us. Like behind the people across the street. Weird.
I wasn’t sure what I was seeing, so of course I kept looking out until I could verify that it was in fact a persons head. I think they were sitting at a desk facing the window. I wondered if they could see me too, but I wasn’t curious enough to wave or anything. Imagine. Waving. LOL. Eventually whoever (whomever?) it was shut out their light. Finally. At least I could focus on TV again.
Rested all day? Check. Snacks packed? Check. Extra water bottles? Check. Large Red Bull? Check.
What am I getting ready for? A late night hike? No! work. Today I am on an overnight shift. 8 till five AM. How nice does that sound? Hopefully it’ll be fun. Hopefully I won’t be feeling sick. My cough is lingering. That scares me. I am always the one prone to bronchitis. *crosses fingers* I am sure I’ll be fine. I just need to try to take it easy… On an overnight shift. Missing sleep. Crazy.
Anyhoo. Gotta go. I want to be a bit early…
Or, just look at the picture. I feel crazy for allowing this holiday into my home this year… But it looks prettier than last year. We are going to add 10 more oversized balls. I like balls.

UPDATE: More in Flickr.
I don’t know who ‘they’ are, but I’d agree with them on this one. Wanna know what I did last night? Really?
Well, after work my man took me out to our new favorite dinner spot Jimmy Carters. W ate waay too much. Great food AND service there! Then we came back home. Richard promptly fell asleep in his recliner. I sat at the computer with every intent of doing something creative. Maybe a podcast, come up with a Lunchtime Poll, something. No such luck. I managed to register for this years NaBloPoMo. (Come on and join me! All you have to do is post every day!)
Then I got lost.
I went to Apple’s official list of 300+ New Features. I read each one, then tried it out or tried to find it. Is that part of my OCD? I mean, to do something like that? OMG. It took hours! But it was a lot of fun, in a geeky way. I really love this latest version of OS X…
Anyhoo, I went to bed super late. Crazy boy.
