Do you know what sucks? Writing your whole post and having your browser crash. I think that has happened to me once before. Us Mac users are just NOT prepared for that sort of thing… *hates*
Anyway. Crap. Where was I?
Drama, drama, drama. These American Idol results shows are just too much. The buildup. The group song (always kinda lame), the recording studio montage which was really an iTunes commercial. The Ford commercial. The previous Idol runner up singing. Stool, sofa, sofa, sofa, sofa, stool. Gah! The tension! I love it! The official bottom 3 was Syesha, Chikezie, and Jason. (Has anyone else noticed Jason’s really tight jeans every week? Just curious…) So wait, we are keeping Kristy Lee Cook? *gouges ears*
Wow. Chikezie is going home. See? I am always wrong. This last time I didn’t mention even one of these folks. Heh.

American Idol... From my bed. LOL. Okay, so far Ramiele kinda ruined that Heart song, and Jason did a Sting song. Ugh. Jason. I keep waiting for him to do Smelly Cat for cry-eye… Syesha next. Now this is promising! Randy loves it, stellar even. Paula thought it was brilliant. Simon is more critical. Ouch.
(Side note: I miss skipping comercials…)
And we’re back with Chikezie. If Only For One Night. I like it. But Randy is picky tonight… He didn’t love it. Paula disagrees, she liked it. Simon thought the performance was cheesy, unoriginal. Brooke’s turn. She’s weird. I want to like her, but I don’t. She’s doing a Police song. I don’t love it. I think it’s the piano thing. I don’t like when the play instruments. Distracting. Randy thought it was alright. Paula and her drag-queen gloves thinks Brooke is consistent. Simon agrees with Randy.
Another break! Sheesh already…

Michael... Mmm. Another Queen song. He does well with Queen. A medly tho? Huh. Judges? Randy thought it was his best on AI. Paula thought it was his shiny moment. Simon saw “star potential”. (text 5706!!) Carly now. Total Eclipse of the Heart. Oopsie, the back up singer is overpowering her. Randy didn’t love the song choice. Paula liked the end, thinks she can do no wrong. Simon thought she was tense. Something was off. David Archuleta is after the break. I missed the song title. What is this? He sounds good as usual, and it’s NOT a ballad! What is it tho? Randy liked it. Paula loved it. Simon hated the performance and likened it to a theme park performance. LOL. I can totally see that now that he said it!
Okay, I have had this open forever. I need to submit and edit in the rest after… Don’t want to lose what I got so far.
UPDATE: Okay. Back.
Kristy Lee what’s her face is next. I have decided that I hate her. And she is doing Proud To Be An American. Totally locking in a patriotic vote on purpose. Randy and Paula thought she did well. I missed what Simon said. David Cook is last up. Oh. My. Gawd. He was amazing. It took me a minute to catch that it was a Michael Jackson song. Wow. The judges love it. All three. Simon even used the word “amazing”. Heh. I did too!
Okay, I really hope Kristy is gone Wednesday. And Ramiele might be in danger too. But I am always wrong…

Oh my gaaawd. Srsly. Wow.
Okay, where to start? It’s so weird to be home to post the results show. I got used to it being on Thursday. So this one, I have to admit… I used the fast forward function on the ol’ DVR. There was just soo stuff. I think we need to cut the results show down to like 30 minutes already. The American Idol Ford commercials are bad enough without the ‘making of’ thrown in. Am I the only one that thinks so?
So the bottom 3 were kinda predictable to everyone but me. Of course Kristy Lee Cook was a no-brainer. But Carly Smithson? Amanda Overmyer? I was shocked. I figured Chikezie or Ramiele maybe… Sheesh. As it turned out, Amanda is going home. Was I wrong! But really tho, Amanda is out and we have Kristy? Ugh. That is retarded. What are the ‘Vote For The Worst’ people up to anyway? (Okay, I just peeked over there and apparently Amanda WAS who they were voting for. OMG. So America really likes Kristy??)

Bah. What can I tell you about American Idol last night? Not doing a one by one run-down as I watch makes it tough. I can say that it overall did not seem like a good night. First off, it was more Beatles. Bah. Not my favorite, and I feel bad for these kids that have to sing songs they have never experienced first hand. Heck, I didn’t even experience them first hand. Anyhoo, David Cook and Amanda Overmyer stood out for me. I thought they were perhaps the strongest of the night. I think the group I was with also enjoyed Carly Smithson. It was hard to tell, cause when you are in a group, if a performance sucked you tended to gab… We talked a lot last night. And Michael Johns’ ass got rewinded and paused. Apparently I am not the only fan. Heh. He did look good tho. Too bad it’s not a hawtness competition.
I still think Kristy Lee Cook has to go next.

Well, that’s it for our little lap dancer David Hernandez on American Idol. I am kinda sad to see him go. I thought that Kristy Lee Cook shoulda got the axe. But what can you do? My local news just said “A juicy backstory wasn’t enough to keep him on Idol” LOL. I can’t believe they said that! Who cares about the stripping for cry-eye!? I think the gay angle in the story was what hurt more than the stripping… I doubt the gays get many of the teenage girl votes, yanno? I could be wrong tho…

Getting voted off on ‘American Idol’ is never a fun experience, but the last of the three semifinal rounds is always particularly cruel. Each of the four contestants voted off the show on Thursday was one week away from being one of the 12 finalists. They came within a few moments of a huge chance to develop a fan base, and then had it snatched away while hearing Simon Cowell talk about how they really weren’t all that good anyway.
There were no big shocks among the unlucky this week, which didn’t make it any easier for Asia’h Epperson, Kady Malloy, Luke Menard or Danny Noriega. Full Story

Okay kids, here we are for American Idol night! I know, for some of us *cough*Pandora*cough* the show has aired.. However, I am geographically challenged I live in San Diego and the show is about to begin. Since I am co-posting this week with Pandora, I will do my best to live-ish blog it. Yes, I said ‘ish’. I do have to pause the TV and run to the computer to get it done. Blogging from the iPhone is just not speedy enough. Maybe once I get more practice with it…
Anyhoo, let’s get the show started!
Okay, starting out I just have to say that I do not like Paula’s hair. What did she do to it? Something is different. OMG!! 80’s night! So excited. I love 80’s! Plus I totally lived through them… Heh.
First up: Luke Menard. He’s doing Wham! He’s destroying it. Why sing so high? This cannot be good. Randy thinks it’s rough, but he got it together in the end. Corny. Paula liked the upper notes, loved it. (Is she for real?) Simon thought it was weak, girlie. He said Luke is not going to make it through. Huh.

David Archuleta is second… a Phil Collins number. He’s playing piano. I like this kid. He sounds great, I love his voice. Randy thought it was good, nice, but a couple of pitch problems. Paula loved that he was off a few notes to ‘prove he is not perfect’. Loved it. Simon said it was NOT as good as last week. Too gloomy, need to lighten up, but will probably be in the final 2.
Hey look! Denise $Richard$s is in the crowd!
Danny Noriega is next. Ooh Soft Cell! THis could be a great choice for him. Not bad sounding but it is an odd rendition of that song.. I like his voice better this week than last. Randy thought he started out rough. He liked the arrangement (that’s what that is called!) but feels Danny can be vocally shy. Paula said that he is a ‘bright light’ in the competition, great vocals… made a big deal about his purple highlights. Simon thought the whole thing was horrible and useless.
David Hernandez is next. I am sorry but I have to include that he just told America a booger story. OMG. Gross. Okay, it’s a Celine Dion song. Really. Interesting. I like this better than Danny’s bit Pretty good! Randy thought it was a nice song choice, but there were a few pitch problems. Nice song for his ‘big ‘ol voice’ tho. Paula said that he’s becoming a very good performer and has some of the ‘best vocals in the group’. Huh. Simon felt that this performance ‘100% secured a place in the finals’.
Ohh! It’s Michael Johns! I love this guy. He’s wearing red pleather. Hawt! I love this song too, from The Breakfast Club. Who is it by?? I think he did great, as well as looked good. Randy thought it was nicely done! Great song choice! Paula also thinks it is the perfect song choice. Thought it was great, and he has a great presence. Simon liked it, loved it. Thinks he’s a huge talent, but hasn’t picked the right song.
Apparently David Cook has had some technical issues with his guitar… Heh. Is this a Lionel Richie song? LOL! I really like it, other than that shouting in the middle. Nice! Randy loved it, and emo song from a pop song. Paula also loved it. Thinks David will be a ‘bright, shiney star’. Simon thought it was very brave. He loved it.
Next up Jason Castro. I am not familiar with this song… He sounds great. And, no guitar! Randy thought it was pretty good, props for going without the guitar. Paula thinks he is unique and recognizable. Simon said it was ‘absolutely brilliant’, favorite of the night, getting better and better.
Last one!! Chikezie! I totally recognize the song, but cannot place it. So 80’s. He is not my fave… Randy said it was an interesting choice, good job but tough song. Paula said he had good vocals tonight. Simon felt it was ‘okay in bits but cabaret’ - not a smart move.
I think Chikezie and Luke are in danger this week…

As always, I am not home for American Idol on Thursdays. Sad, I know. So here’s the dish from MSNBC:
In some ways, Thursday’s “American Idol” results show was the exact opposite of the one from last week.
Last week, the two oldest women were eliminated. This week, it was the two youngest. Two teenagers were the first guys sent packing, while this week a 29-year-old and a very experienced 26-year-old joined them.
But while this week was unkind to a different demographic, the reason for the exits were similar. To stay in, a singer has to stand out. The ones who got cut this week blended in with the crowd, which wasn’t enough to get them the needed fan support. Full Story
More over at Pandora’s and Jester’s...
Eliminated:
Alexandrea Lushington
Jason Yeager
Alaina Whitaker
Robbie Carrico

Okay here we go again. I am not live blogging, obviously. Hello, that is like so much work. Not to mention that I am on the west coast. It has already aired. What is the point? Well, it’s fun I guess, but I gotta be in the mood.
So here we go with the guys!
Michael Johns. I still love this guy. Hot, hot, hot. But it is not a hotness competition! He did a Fleetwood Mac number, and frankly I was disappointed. I thought he’d be able to do more with that. Randy thought it was not his best. Paula said he was consistent and charismatic. Simon felt it was his weakest performance. Okay.
Jason Castro was second. He did the guitar thing again. It was okay, but not my thing. Off topic, I think he should cut his hair. The finish was good. Randy thought he was okay, a cute performance with the guitar. Paula wants him to not have the guitar next week but thought he did a good job.

Luke Menard up next… Pretty good start. I like him with this song. Doesn’t seem like ‘him’ but he sounds good. Randy thinks there are pitch problems but overall pretty good. Paula thought it was a perfect song for him. Simon hated it. He said it was a mistake, and Luke had no charisma or personality.
Robbie Carrico doing Hot Blooded. Not feeling that. To me that is what I think they mean saying ‘karaoke’. Randy thinks he might not have a ‘rock’ voice, but it was okay. Paula thought he played it safe, lost his character. Simon thought the vocal was okay.
I am disappointed in Danny Noriega. I cannot believe he is doing Karen Carpenter. How do I not compare? Randy thinks he needs to ‘let it go’ and don’t over-think it. Paula thinks he has amazing skill, agrees with Randy on the over-thinking. Simon likes him because he is interesting, looks terrific on camera. Said the performance was better.
Next up is David Hernandez. I like this one. He sounds much better this week! I like this song for his voice. He does make weird faces tho… Randy said ‘this is the David Hernandez we fell in love with”. Paula said he has a pure voice, hit amazing notes. Simon thought it was the best vocal of the night.
Jason Yeager. I want to like this guy, but he always seems cheesy. He’s obviously talented. I don’t know. Randy thought it was pitchy. Heh, he always says that. He also mentioned karaoke. Paula thought there weren’t many notes to hit in his song, didn’t show off his voice. Simon felt he was awkward and ordinary. Did he just say corny??
I wonder what Chikezie will do? Last week was so… Hey this is good. Much better than last week !He looks normal too… Randy says “Chikezie is back!” Paula thought he was fun and brilliant. Simon thought it was a million times better! Chikezie defends his suit, disses Simon!
Here comes David Cook. I like this guy! Now he is a rocker! Great performance. Randy says he is a real rocker, smart song choice. Paula thinks he is the real deal, said ‘ya got it’, loved it. Simon said it was a solid, believable performance, but not a lot of charisma.
Finally David Archuleta. He is amazing. Sounds amazing. Powerful ending. Randy actually said it was the ‘best vocal I have ever heard on the show’, brilliant. Simon thinks that David is the one to beat. I would agree!
So there we go. Another week for the boys. What do you think of these guys? Any favorites yet?

Here we are. The first performance night. Good news, guys night. Bad news, it’s 60’s night.
First up is David Hernandez. I felt it was a weird song choice. Randy said he could blow. (huh?). Paula said he was brilliant. Simon felt the beginning was terrific, but lost it in the middle. Said he should loosen up.
Chikezie was lounge-y, both sounding and looking! Randy said he was ‘pretty good’ but old fashioned. Paula: “you’ve come a long way”. Thought he looked great. Simon hated the whole performance. Said it was ‘so old fashioned’.
David Cook. OMG. Great song choice. He got the audience on their feet. I thought he rocked! Randy said he ‘made a rock joint’ out of Happy Together. Paula felt it was worthy - rocked it. Simon said it was good, but mentioned that he shouted in the middle. “Almost believable”.
Jason Yeager... Where was this guy during auditions? I thought he was alright. Kinda cute, but too smiley. Eh, I hate the song Moon River. Randy said ‘all you boys can blow’ (he is so dirteh tonight!) and told him to focus. Paula, well she did her first ballet recital to Moon River. Aw.. Simon said he was very ‘cruise ship’ and compared him to a dependable old dog. LOL. I love when simon agrees with me.

Robbie Carrico was next. He was doing his rock thing but I don’t feel it. Randy thought it was nice. He was moved. Paula said it was the perfect song - authentic. Simon said it was the only ‘current’ performance of the night, but questioned the authenticity.
David Archuleta. He is so adorable! Only 17! Aw! I thought that his vocals were strong, I like his voice. I totally missed whatever Randy said. Oops. Paula forgets how old he is, he seems so confidant. Simon thought he was the best of the night so far.
Danny Noriega did Elvis. Weird. He sounded okay, but it seemed weird to me. Randy thought it was okay, kinda hot. Paula said it was colorful. Simon topped it off with ‘verges on grotesque’ and said he destroyed an Elvis song. Paula then argued with him. Heh. Love Idol!
Luke Menard. Again. Did he audition? I don’t remember him. Anyhoo, nice looking guy. Nice. Ballad type voice, but it was a ballad. *yawn*. Randy - Yo yo, pitchy. “I know that’s a word Paula and I use a lot.” Paula said it was not the best song choice. Simon again agreed with me, I swear. This IS live-ish… Forgetable - you have to stand out!
Colton Berry does look kinda like Ellen. I like him. I liked the sounfd, good song. Randy thought he started rough, but all in all pretty good. Paula thought it was nice, not his best, but a ‘fun’ attempt. Simon thought it was okay, but just a kid singing an Elvis song quite well, a waste of time.
Okay, Garret Haley totally creeps me out. He sounded nasal-y to me. Randy felt he didn’t ‘do’ anything with it, had pitch problems, boring. Paula advised that he not be afraid to ‘change the song up’. Simon called him boring, whiney, and said he looked terrified. Oh, and that he should get outdoors. Huh.
Jason Castro was engaging. He has a nice voice, but I am getting tired. They are starting to sound alike. Gah. Good thing I am blogging this. Randy loved the vibe, pitch problem but a’ight. Paula said he blew her away, perfect song choice. Simon said he was in the top 2 of the night. “Like David, you’ve got it. Terrific.”
Michael Johns is my favorite. Hawt, hawt, hawt! Looks and sounds like a star. Randy “What a way to end a great night, I love you”. Paula thought it was a great, great ending. Simon said he is the most consistent contestant, natural charisma.
Okay. Now go vote yo.
