April Fools Gone By.

thoughts i had
So I was looking at the archives as to what happened last April Fools, and I came across this old post from ‘05. Between the content and the comment I kinda feel depressed. No one cared enough to fool me this year.

April Fool

whaat!
I have this fancy clock that sets itself. It’s really cool, when I got it I plugged it in, and it just like went to the correct time. It changed when the time changed recently too! I swear the thing is magic!
So last night when I went to bed it was pretty late. Like 2am or something. I had had a really rough day at work and couldn’t wind down. Anyway, I get upstairs and that clock said 3! I turned right around and went back downstairs to look at a clock. I was sure I hadn’t stayed up that late! Sure enough, 2am downstairs.
My magic clock had changed again!! This morning I dug out the instruction book. I had saved it because there had been some mumbo jumbo regarding DST. Sadly I had not read it when I got the clock, so the only way I could figure to fix my time was to put myself in another time zone.

What Better Day To Post A Joke?
•
funny haha
UPDATE: Hey internets! Let’s play a game! I posted this blonde joke here… We all know a blonde joke, right? Share them!! Post your best blonde joke in the comments...
This is another one from the ol’ mailbag. A blonde joke, so… be ready for that.
Returning home from work, a blonde was shocked to find her house ransacked and burglarized. She telephoned the police at once and reported the crime.
The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the radio, and a K-9 unit, patrolling nearby was the first to respond. As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog on a leash, the blonde ran out on the porch, shuddered at the sight of the cop and his dog, then sat down on the steps.
Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, “I come home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police for help, and what do they do?
They send me a BLIND policeman.”
HELLO
via dad.

It’s Been A While Since I’d Been Fooled!

making a living
This April Fools’ they almost had me.
I got into work and was greeted by a note in the office. It was a resignation for who is essentially my assistant, and one of two supervisors in the building. Not good. I had no idea why she’d be putting in notice and as I was considering calling my boss at home (while on vacation) or possibly my district manager I began tidying up the table. I then came across another note. This one from the other supervisor. Again with the two weeks notice! What!? That was when I started to think it was a joke, and said as much out loud. The manager I was training was there and he began to chuckle. Next to him was a stack of several more resignations from associates in the building. It was pretty funny, yet how scary if it were true!
I was then greeted by 12 people outside the office shouting “April Fool” or whatever. Some of the kids were on their own time! I really felt the love today… It says something when they choose you for stunts like that in my line of work.

Are Ya Foolin’ Or What?

thoughts i had
Today went by with out a single April Fool’s moment, other than my own. (I made a harmless verbal joke.) I think it’s because we have too much loss prevention drama at the old work place. That’s fine with me though. The only other bits of news I’ve had so far were regarding my ping thingy from earlier, and Richard telling me that his windshield got hit by a rock earlier and needs replacing.
Hmm. April Fool or real…
So I combed through my MT settings, and code and all seems okay. I did however find a few things that needed fixing anyway regarding trackback and comments, so it was a productive hour anyway. Just the same, MT users feel free to ping me just to be sure!
As for the windshield… Well it could go either way. I will just have to wait till Richard gets home. The fact that it’s about his car and not mine makes me think “real”.
It’s funny though. The whole day I’ve been thinking about an April Fool’s Day from my childhood.
My father was off work, I think with a broken leg or something. I'm not sure, but anyway he was home. Mom was working at a small clothing store back then to get out of the house. Dad had called her at work.
"Hey, I need to clean up a big spill. What should I use?"
Keep in mind, my mother was and is a clean freak nut-case, like me. He went on to explain that it was water. You know, giving out one detail at a time before telling her it was
the fishtank that was knocked over. Of course blaming my brother and I.
I swear she lost it a little that day. He had her going for a while too. Right when she said she was hanging up and coming home he said those two words.
"April Fool"
She got home that night and cussed him for a solid hour.
