SMTP My Ass…
anger management

Dude. SBC-Yahoo-At&t, whoever the fuck it is, sucks. I have never had to go in and dick around with my email settings so much as I have in the past few months. Now there is this new thing where I had to go in and verify my email addresses. Hello? What? This is my ISP. I am sure it’s normal to have many emails to send from… Bah. Funny tho. The only emails other than the dumbass one from them that need their SMTP is our Mac accounts. The Mac SMTP never works for me. Like for the last 2 years. Weird. And Richard’s settings were all crazy. Tell me why I never fixed his issues before, and just added more SMTP server choices? He had like 8. For 2 emails. Dude?

Anyway, after two hours Richard and I finally have outgoing home email addresses in addition to our glamorous dp.com addys. Yay. I am so happy to have had this project after my 3 hours of sleep and 9.5 hour day.

Now back to mindless surfing.

In Korea, a Boot Camp Cure for Web Obsession

MOKCHEON, South Korea - The compound - part boot camp, part rehab center - resembles programs around the world for troubled youths. Drill instructors drive young men through military-style obstacle courses, counselors lead group sessions, and there are even therapeutic workshops on pottery and drumming. But these young people are not battling alcohol or drugs. Rather, they have severe cases of what many in this country believe is a new and potentially deadly addiction: cyberspace.... They spend at least two hours a day online, usually playing games or chatting. Of those, up to a quarter million probably show signs of actual addiction, like an inability to stop themselves from using computers, rising levels of tolerance that drive them to seek ever longer sessions online, and withdrawal symptoms like anger and craving when prevented from logging on.

Probably so… tongue wink

Hai Internets!
anger managementmaking a living

Have you noticed I have been less than attentive lately? My bad. work is busy. Actually too busy, and due to some ‘mickey mousing’ with the schedule I am now stuck with a 12 hour day tomorrow. 12 hours! I can only be pissed at myself for forgetting that I scheduled 2 new hires for training. By me. At ten in the morning. So that, combined with the closing shift that I agreed to puts me at 10-10. Ayup.

Hell. But I say at least it’s on my terms… I will be seen working a 12 hour day, but I am on my terms. I did it.

I suck.

Anyhoo, time for bed and junk. Maybe tomorrow I will be interesting again.

Long Ass Day
anger managementmaking a living

Remember the other day when I twittered about how long I thought the day was gonna be. That was nothing. Today will be a long day! I showed up at work at 8. I was doing my thing, you know… working. Around noon the closing manager called out. Long story short, I left for a few hours so that I could return and close. There just weren’t many options.

Beh. So here I am at home, knowing I need to be heading back. I don’t *need* to be there till 6, but the longer I sit here adds time to the drive. Traffic gets progressively worse in that direction starting like right now. See what I mean? Long ass day. I think I will do a princess shift tomorrow. Something short. Not too early, off in plenty of time for dinner. Like that. We’ll see.
