So apparently any good faith return to blogging is begun with the same steps. We all are familiar. We’ve all been there. First the big “is this thing on?” post. It’s just tradition, right? Second there’s a big “I updated my blogging software, I’m more productive and happy here!” post. Am I right? Step 3…

Welll, kids I cannot and will not do Step 3. No promises. I have broken the number one promise I made to ME when this site started. I won’t even link to it. I’m ashamed. I was going to write here (read HERE, not Twitter) everyday. I have broken that a number of times now. Sure we’re on on our ninth year… OMFG NINE YEARS. !!!!!!!!!!!! Also I am not the inspiration. I am practicing in advance. One of best all time online friends may bring his blog back. So in rallying (copying) support I said that if he did I would too. It’s easier with a partner. Yes?

Today was my day off! It was a super productive day. I got my car warshed, did some light cleaning, grocery shopped, the usual. However, much to my happy surprise, my man did some DEEP CLEANING due to his mother visiting. My home is positively sparkling! The down side is… Ughz. Mother in law visitation. She and I, we don’t get along real well. In fact every time she visits there is high drama and fighting. My relationship is at risk every time she crosses the threshold.

I shouldn’t say that. I am sure this time will be different! I am thinking positive thoughts! (I better buy some vodka, just in case tho)

In other news, Kyle Hunter. I mentioned him once or twice. My current news crush… *sigh* It is my mission to meet him. He is local news here in San Diego. Weather. He is on Twitter. He responds to my @replies. Most recently I had tweeted that he should have iWeatherman.com tee shirts (his before FOX weather website, where he’d do the weather in jeans..). He started a Cafe Press shop that day. Haha! It’s just a good idea, I doubt it had anything to do with me. But still! So of course I ordered a shirt… I’m lucky Richard isn’t the jealous type.

I love Tuesdays… Have I mentioned that? LOL. Of course I have. Today was a day of errands, lunch (mmm!), and chores. I had a fabulous time. Isn’t that funny?

Anyhoo. Richard is starting dinner and I am relaxing with an adult beverage and some internet time. So I thought I might blog! *gasp* I know, right? Again so soon? Yes!

I just finished my reference questionnaire for Richard’s application to become a Big Brother. It was interesting for me. One of the questions involved my giving a specific instance when he was interacting with a child and how I felt about it. It was tough because as I thought about it there have been so many! Richard loves kids, and the only feeling I am ever left with is that he is a natural parent. He adores kids! He has this innate “skill” (for lack of a better word) with children that I wish more parents had! I always feel kinda bad when I witness that tho, because I don’t really want children. Sometimes I wish I felt different, for his sake. But I don’t really. I do not see myself as a parent in anyway. Weird. Of course I didn’t write all of that. TMI and all… It just got me thinking is all…

Anyway, wish him luck with the Big Brother thing. It’ll be good for him, as well as the kid.

Something is up. I have noticed it, Richard has noticed it. I am sure any remaining readers here have noticed it. My friends I chat with online have really felt the brunt of it.

I am just not spending much time online anymore.

Crazy! Right? OMG, who the hell would have ever seen the day coming where Daniel was not online *every day*. Dude. I used to BLOG *every day*. Now we are lucky to get a photo posted each month… I have changed. Is it for the better? I think so. I am focused on reality much more (not that my online life isn’t real, just not… you know). I think my relationship has improved. I have my first very own non-aquatic pet, which if you know me you know how huge that is. So I guess there are positive trade-offs in addition to the flip side. I miss some of you very much. I miss the excitement of comments. Comments! Such a simple thing, but way more exciting than an @reply on Twitter. Srsly, right? Gawd I miss comments…

Also, as much as I adore (ADORE, love, cherish, worship) my iPhone, it’s just not that conducive to blogging. It does audio well, but that is a major shift that I think needs to be done right on the blog-end… It’s not a podcast, which I am set up for. I dabbled heavily in the podcast world, but it wasn’t my gig. When all was said and done I frankly didn’t have the attention span for it. I liked doing it, the tech was fun. I just don’t have time to listen to them all to be part of the “whole thing”. So there would need to be retooling to make ME interested. I know y’all are Feed Readers at this point. I am the one who needs pretty. Yay! Pretty!

What is this whole post about? I am not sure. I guess it’s another “I’m still here, are you?” type posts. I am not giving up. I just need to reinvent myself.

Things have been busy here at the dp.com household. What with Father’s Day keeping me at work more and all. It doesn’t look like it’s slowing down much either, as Back to School is just ahead. *sigh* The thing aboot being home less is when you are there, there is a lot to do. But it’s fun. The yard is in bloom, my kitten is becoming a cat (that “helps” with chores), and when I do groceries I travel with the top down! My household stuff rocks!

work is good too. It’s not exactly smooth, but I am employed and the job is stable. In fact, I am being challenged by the new leadership. I kinda like that. It has renewed my motivation and junk. Just like They say it does! Who knew?

What else is going on that’s exciting? Hmm….

Look. It’s my blog! OoOoOooo…. Sometimes I forget I have it. I swear someday I am going to ditch that time-suck Twitter and come home to this here blog. I’ll do it too! Just not today.

Something about that Twitter fascinates me, tho I do hate how my particular “twitterfeed” is like 99% chat room. I remember the Old Days (yes I have been tweeting since like the first week or something so I get to say Old Days) someone would always call out the chatters and tell them to “get on AIM! This isn’t a chat-room!” I don’t really want to be that guy… Plus it is semi-interesting reading in that voyeuristic way, when I am not annoyed with it. What happened to the “What are you doing?” angle? Now it’s all “@ @ @ @” conversations and you have to scroll around all crazy to keep up. *sigh* Plus I have seen more nudie self-twitpics than I can shake a stick at! Not that that’s always a good thing. LOL. So I guess there are plusses and minuses. Still part of me wants to do away with it like I did the Plurk.

Anyhoo. So do you realize the year is nearly half over already? It is! Ask anyone you know working Retail. If that person in your life is me, let me just tell you then. Backpacks are landing people. Backpacks! That means Back to School. After that it’s all downhill till holiday. [insert cries of pain here] So get your shopping list together and plan that holiday Ham… Have I instilled panic? Heh. So where was this paragraph going? Oh yeah. Time flies when you aren’t blogging. I have been super busy with work. Plus our time off has been pleasantly filled with friends and time with my man. Last week we went to the big San Diego Zoo to check out the new Elephant Odyssey the have been building up in there. It was nice, but immature yet. Animals were still in the “acclimation” stages and weren’t as visible as normal. The big cats weren’t yet moved in. But otherwise super well done. My favorite part will always be Monkey Trails tho. Monkeys rule yo.

So yeah. Still alive and junk. Trying to figure out a balance between online life and real life and my cat. (Inside joke, the cat part. Kinda) If you get anything out of this post, it’s the part in this next sentence: If you think I am ignoring you, I am not. I am just in a weird place right now.

Well kids, it’s tha last day of my glorious 4 day weekend. It was supposed to have been 5 (Remember? They made me work. Stupid Mother’s Day) but 4 was okay. It all ends abruptly though. I have to be at work at 4:30 in the morning.

So today, being the last day was filled with all those little chores and errands to get me ready for the next 5 days of work. You know. Fascinating things, like haircut. groceries, dry cleaners, and the usual stuff around the house. Nothing really interesting. Maybe I’ll do a bit of manscaping later… Heh. Anyhoo. There’s my day so far.
