It totally feels like a Sunday morning. My body apparently has no idea I am about to drag it up to the shower in like 10 minutes. Poor thing.
But I do totally feel relaxed this morning. Richard has the cats out back with him while he enjoys his coffee in the sun. I had enough time to eat breakfast. Not a big breakfast, but toast is a luxury for a gay on the go. (Yes that means I skipped the gym again today. Shush up about it. I have committed to using the stairs at work and I have to change floors at least twice every ten minutes on the weekend. I am feelin it yo.)
Oh. And somebody brought home milk last night! So I have normal coffee today. *grin*
Anyway. I hope the weekend off people are having a swell time!

..For cereal.” He said, as he poured every last drop into his bowl knowing I cannot drink coffee without it. Cattiness ensued, but it still doesn’t change the fact that if I want my morning energy ‘boost’ I have to drink the strong bitter sludge we lovingly call ‘coffee’ without any milk. This day is probably going to suck. These types of things are foreboding, right?
I feel totally disconnected today too. The closing weekend can do that. I wake up, go to the gym, dress, go to work, come home, sleep, and repeat. For 4 days. 5 this week, since I needed to get out of my usual Thursday close. I have not seen any TV. I have not read any news (like I do that so much). Bah. Disconnected. I took today off from the gym too. So now I feel guilt about that. But to be fair, on my closing weekend I like to take Saturday morning to get the housework done. Waiting a week on that with 2 cats is, well, gross.
Gawd this coffee tastes like hell.

So you know what I miss? Chocolate milk. I used to looove some chocolate milk. We used the Nestle Quick. Remember when you first started to make your own? One spoonful would miss the glass? Then as you got older and “wiser” you added an extra spoonful of the chocolate powder, but then it never dissolved right and was this sweet drink with clumps of that dry powder? My mom would bitch at me when I did that… Sometimes my brother and I would compete and see how much we could dissolve in one glass. I always won. He actually preferred the strawberry flavor for his milk. Sometimes I would actually just put a spoonful linto my mouth and eat it. I was weird, because I did that little spoonful trick as a teenager.
Anyway, so yesterday Richard stumbled upon a container of Quick in the cupboard. He asked when I was ever gonna use it. Tonight seemed like a good time. I made us each a tall glass. I followed the instructions and used 2 tablespoons, but then I smiled to myself and gave each glass an extra spoonful. Heh. For old times sake.
What’s your food memory? Do you have one, or am I weird?

We are running low on milk this morning. Really low. I did have enough for my coffee and cereal at least. But it reminded me…
When my brother and I were young and we were running low on milk we’d still get cereal for breakfast. However we were not aloud to drink the milk at the end. We had to save it so my mother could put it in her coffee.
Is that weird? That seems weird to me. And a bit gross. Heh.
