What a night! Can I just tell you first, that alcohol is a very dangerous drug? Especially when combined with glitter, hair, and heels…
I was logged into Facebook the other day and saw that Vuboq was a-coming-to-town. Like Santa. Kinda. Only this was for work and not like gift giving and reindeer. Now we’ve only chatted a bit here and there on the Social Networks, mostly the Twitter. But hey, I read his blog pretty regularly, and I am like the San Diego welcome wagon, so I sent him a message inviting him to our holiday Shindig. Sadly, after much traveling that day he cancelled. But being the persistent one, I mentioned we should at least do drinks while he was in town.
Because, to be perfectly honest, most of my friends are FROM the internet. And also, I figured he’d cancel again. Just cause, you know, we hadn’t chatted that often before. But the next day we had a date, time, and place all figured out. Yay! Being that it was going to be a Wednesday I naturally chose Dreamgirls over at the Urban Mo’s. A guaranteed good time. As it turned out I was right!
So Vuboq (can I say his name? Not sure since he doesn’t use it..) is amazing. He’s fun, frisky, and adorable all at once. It was surprisingly easy to talk to him, and it was that weird “like we’ve known each other forever” vibe. I am so, so, soo glad we met!!! (In fact I wish he lived here… So we could hang out and laugh a lot and have Martini Time). Plus, he brought the fantastic Miss Michelle M. She’s not a tweet or a blog, so like… no link. But she is FUN! Also a local gal so we hope to see her again.
It turned out that the drag show was the most perfect venue.. We had the most amazing time talking, watching the scandalous performances of the Dreamgirl’s Beauties, and enjoying boozy beverages. Ice broken, we ended up on the heated patio and just talked, laughed, and harassed the “girl’s”. Well, not harassed so much as meet and greeted… and photographed! Yay! So here’s a few photos:

So I was out the other night with some friends. I have pretty friends. Too pretty I think. Somehow we got to talking about music and this one friend was like all aboot Xtina and some other young hotties. So I pointed out that he was like 12. How can I defend Madge with someone so young? It was then that he revealed that he was older than I. Much older. Of course I squealed with delight. Older? Hahahah. But he looks good… But who cares, I was YOUNGER! But we had been drinking… So all points were lost. Then out of nowhere he said he looked younger. Fuck.
Hold up.
What?
Of course I was graceful and let the conversation flow. But inside I screamed. I do not have a single wrinkle. My skin is not only youthful, I still need acne products. I am as moist as can be! So clearly the remark was aimed at my hairline. Betch. So yeah, you got all your hair but I can see every moment you spent in the sun this past summer. All I need is a hat while you have to apply your Cover Girl. But make up does little for wrinkles. Heh.
Still. I’d rather have my hair. I had a lot of hair once. In the right lighting I still do. Aging totally sucks yo. Maybe it’s time to shave my head? A lot of the boys at the bar were sporting shaved heads. I could go that route. Tall, dark eye brows, maybe a goatee? I could do it… What say you?

Yes, I saw the VMA’s. Yes I saw Britney’s “number”.
Sigh. After that I just didn’t have it in me to blog. I mean. Seriously. Brit, what were you thinking? I took the night off.
First of all, that outfit? Sure it’s hot. It’s even not horrible on her. But ‘not horrible’ doesn’t cut it. She needed to look amazing! She’s still a pretty girl. She could do it. I am sure that any disagreements with the hair stylist didn’t help. So bad outfit choice (although I’d love to see Madonna in that bikini) and bad hair. Secondly, our girl Brit wasn’t feeling it. If she were, we’d not have noticed either bad fashion choice. Britney knew how to captivate us back in the day. She looked stoned or bored or both. It was just awful.
But you read all that already, right? Watch it here. Then watch Brit and Madonna in 2003. More expression on Britney’s face in the first 10 seconds than in the whole Gimme More performance. Dude. Then there’s this one. This is the Britney I miss.
Aw well, better luck next time. I think I want her to make that comeback more than she does…

I went up to the gayborhood to get my haircut again today. It had been a really long time since the last one. I was waay over due. It was disappointing though. My usual gal had jury duty. I almost left I found out. Everyone else there is so snooty. Especially for a Fantastic Sam’s. I don’t care what neighborhood you are in. But I looked in the mirror and resigned myself to stick it out. The guy from last time was there. He seems like he’d be a fun guy, but clearly he’s the snootiest one. I like him despite the fact that he makes it very plain that he doesn’t want to cut my hair. This time was worse than the last time. Today he took an obviously long time with the customer before me. Long pauses to talk, sitting, and then taking payment in slow motion. Bitch. When it was finally my turn he stated that he didn’t remember me from last time, and I’d have to tell him what I wanted. I never said he’d cut my hair before so he at least remembered that much! So I did my best to explain while being totally distracted by a new photo hanging in his station. It was of him. He looked just the same except for the part where in the photo he was in full drag. At first I thought it was cool that he put it up like that, but then I noticed how he was going about clippering my hair. He was slouched over, barely watching what he was doing as he disinterestedly rubbed the clippers over my head like a pencil erasure. The rest of the experience was about the same.
I have decided I hate him. It’s not a bad haircut. Not as good as my usual gal. But not bad. Still better than the other chop shops. Why must a haircut be such torture? I know it’s not challenging. I know I will never be a showcase of your work with my receding hairline. But can’t you at least be nice? It’s already traumatic enough to be wet-headed in public. I should just go back to salon cuts… but it’s so damn pricey.
There’s always self-styling.
Okay, forget I said that last part.

It is amazing what you can squeeze into a day off if you wake up a little earlier. Who knew? Well, as nice as it was to get a lot done I don’t think I’ll be popping out of bed and racing out of the house as my new routine.
So my first task of the day was a trip to the gym. I had a great workout and a sultry wink from a cute alterna-chick! Fantastic!
Then I had to shower and race off to the dentist. Now I used to love going to the dentist. I always love having lick-able clean teeth. But this past year has been hard. Since when does the scraping pick thing plug in and vibrate? I causes me pain! I think my dental hygienist was making fun of me in the back room. I had requested that she scrape my teeth the old fashioned way. At least I survived the ordeal with no cavities.
The next stop on the list was a hair cut. I hate getting my haircut. I’ve been to the same little man three times now. The first two times he did a great job. This time we had some sort of fallout in our communication. It came out so short. Literally. I literally have no hair. I guess I won’t need a hair cut before Mexico!
Last stop: The grocery.
All in all a successful day. (Yes, I am a little link-happy today.)
