Question: Do you put your title in first, then write your post? Post first? For me it depends a lot on what I’ve got going on and how much of it is ‘ready to go’ in my head. But then sometimes that is the biggest stumbling block to getting anything written at all. Weird. But tonight is a bit like that. Whatever. On with the show!
So tonight was the second night of the big American Idol Premier. I cannot tell you how glad I am that Idol is back on! I missed it a bit more that is probably normal. But anyhow, it is filled with the usual cast of crazies thinking that they can actually sing. Or folks just wanting (and succeeding) to get on TV. A round up of night one can be found here. You’ll prolly recognize Alexis Cohen from the camera phone shot of my TV from last night. She was just unreal. Un. Real. I think they found a few good ones too… But when it came time to watch tonight I kinda balked that it was two hours again. As much as I love me some Idol 4 hours in two days seemed like a lot. But sure enough when 8 o’clock rolled around there I was watching. But tonight I got creative and did some multi-tasking. I did a load of laundry, ironed my new shirts (OMG I GOT NEW SHIRTS! AND PANTS! FROM Richard! ), and cleaned and organized my closet. But I dropped everything when Renaldo Lapuz auditioned. He is a genius. I wanted to write about more audition tragedy, but I forgot all the others after his powerful song, We’re Brothers Forever.
“I am your brother, your best friend forever
Singing the songs, the music that you love
We’re brothers, till the end of time...”
Okay. I’ll stop now. Next week: San Diego baby!

So you know what I miss? Chocolate milk. I used to looove some chocolate milk. We used the Nestle Quick. Remember when you first started to make your own? One spoonful would miss the glass? Then as you got older and “wiser” you added an extra spoonful of the chocolate powder, but then it never dissolved right and was this sweet drink with clumps of that dry powder? My mom would bitch at me when I did that… Sometimes my brother and I would compete and see how much we could dissolve in one glass. I always won. He actually preferred the strawberry flavor for his milk. Sometimes I would actually just put a spoonful linto my mouth and eat it. I was weird, because I did that little spoonful trick as a teenager.
Anyway, so yesterday Richard stumbled upon a container of Quick in the cupboard. He asked when I was ever gonna use it. Tonight seemed like a good time. I made us each a tall glass. I followed the instructions and used 2 tablespoons, but then I smiled to myself and gave each glass an extra spoonful. Heh. For old times sake.
What’s your food memory? Do you have one, or am I weird?

My brother called me today just to make sure I called my father for Father’s Day before it got too late. Isn’t that awesome? He didn’t want me to forget. I had just gotten off the phone with my dad though, so it was all good. But still, props to my bro, yo.

We are running low on milk this morning. Really low. I did have enough for my coffee and cereal at least. But it reminded me…
When my brother and I were young and we were running low on milk we’d still get cereal for breakfast. However we were not aloud to drink the milk at the end. We had to save it so my mother could put it in her coffee.
Is that weird? That seems weird to me. And a bit gross. Heh.
