Easter Brunch
 o.c.d.    what's up?

Easter Brunch is at my place this year. It has been hinted that the house should be “decorated for Easter”. Decorated for Easter? What? Huh?

Is there such a thing?

So today we ventured into the local Michael’s to look around. It turns out I was right. Not a lot of Easter decor. A lot of little things like for a table… So I am actually at a loss. What the hell do I do? I bought some fake red daisies for the table since I loved the real ones, but I can’t just keep buying fresh flowers. The cats might eat ‘em, plus maintaining them can get expensive. Those are kinda just for everyday tho. I also got some fake tulips. The tulips really say “spring” and they had red, so they totally match my decor. I put those into a glass pitcher on top of the bar. Now for the actual brunch I bought three traditional Easter baskets. I figure it’d be cute to do breakfast pastries and muffins in those.. The last thing I figured I’d get, and I don’t even know if it exists, is a large paper mache or plaster type rabbit. Something at least knee high for next to the fireplace. I think that will be impossible. But plan B would be fresh Easter lilies by the fireplace. We were going to get some anyways, it’d just be one or two more. We’d just have to put them outside right afterwards… I also think we should have hard boiled eggs on-hand and we could dye them, but that might be too over the top. No one in attendance is going to be age six. In fact, yeah, bad idea.

Anyhoo. I’ll have to remember to photograph the whole affair. If I pull off “decorated for Easter” I will want to record it for the internets..

Good Book
 o.c.d.    what's up?

Last night, and actually the night before I went up to bed a bit early. To read. I have gotten it into my head that I want to read more. I love books and reading and all that junk. So anyway, I figured I’d do a bit of reading before bed. A bit. As in some. Right. Now I remember why I don’t read too often anymore. I cannot stop. I get a book I like, and I read it till it’s done. I was actually up until 2 in the morning reading! Two! Sure, I am closing all weekend, but I really do not need to be up until 2. Because then I sleep in too long and miss out on anything (gym) else (gym) I need (gym) to be doing (gym).

This book I am reading has over 600 pages. I am already more than halfway done. I’ve had it for 3 days. It kills me to put it down. Is reading supposed to be like that?

    Long Day
     making a living    o.c.d.    what's up?

It was a long day at the work. I am a bit tired and moody. It is also very hot. I am sweating.

I am hot, moist, tired, and bitchy. Yuck.

We are also having a very embarrassing problem. I almost don’t want to discuss it. But I have too. It is vexing me. We have bugs up in our house. Or had?

Bugs! Fleas actually. Noticed them about a week and a half ago. Actually they were hard to miss as they were eating me alive. Flea bites are ugly too! Here we are in shorts season and my legs are covered in sores. Anyhoo, we properly freaked out and sprayed in the house and outside as well as chemicaled the cats. Seemed to make them fleas angry and a few survivors sought higher ground, namely my bed. So we freaked out some more. I laundered the sheets on the hottest settings possible, vacuumed everything, sprayed everything, and vacuumed again. We wondered where they were coming from… The cats? The outside? work? Couldn’t figure it out. Just as well, as it seemed to have passed. Until tonight. I felt something on my leg, looked down, and saw a flea. Dammit! I have no new bites, thank gawd.

So here I go spraying some more poison about the office. Richard thinks they are pretty much confined to this area right now. I, however, am pretty sure they might come home on my socks from work. Or Richard’s. Or both. We work with the filthy public all day in an enclosed carpeted place. I know that I have seen fleas at work. The brazen little things were on the top of a frequently used desk. Bastards! The bugs hop onboard and commute home with us to their doom. This house has to be pretty toxic to a variety of insects at this point.

Ew. I have to go shower now. And seep. I go back into my bug-infested place of employment at oh five hundred hours yo. (Is that 5 AM? I meant 5 AM…) I am wearing the OFF instead of cologne tomorrow.

    Stressful
     o.c.d.    what's up?

One of the things I hate most about traveling is the packing. It feels so final. Once you forget something, that’s it. If you really need it you are buying it on the other side of the journey. So I am making this pile of stuff as I think of it. Phone chargers, shaver, magazines, an umbrella. It’s totally random. It also has me wandering all over the house. I feel like a crazy OCD person. Maybe it’s the OCD. Heh.

Anyway, hopefully my brain will stop spinning soon. I doubt it though. We are making a trip to Target. I think that’ll be worse. Gah!

    Stuff And Junk
     blogging    o.c.d.    what's up?

Omg. My drunken sorority girl neighbors are home. It is 3 in the morning. What the hell is with those girls? Sluts. Okay, maybe not sluts, but really.. What are they doing till 3 in the morning? It can’t be good. And from what Richard says, if he has to work early, like at 5, they are still up. Now I used to stay awake like that at that age too, but not by any natural means, I assure you. Speaking of, why am I up? Not sure. I did just get home from work at almost midnight. Maybe that has something to do with it.

So I am getting that amazing pre-vacation stress that only those with OCD, or maybe my mother can relate too. There is the pre-departure housework. The home-arrival housework. There is all that crap in the fridge that might go bad. There is the shopping we will need to do when we get back. Not to mention the laundry. My gawd, the laundry!! Will the cats pee in the house? If they do, will Amy notice? Will she know how to clean it? WILL she clean it? Gah!

I think I can hear the hairs popping out of my head as I GO BALD FROM THE STRESS.

I need to learn to relax. It’s our 10 year anniversary vacation and my stress level has ruined it. We haven’t even left yet. Good lawd. I need a pill. I should see someone aboot that. *breathes* So anyhoo, I think I may have a supplemental author for the dp.com while I am traveling. I am excited. I know we voted on this in the past, but I figure if I am out of town with limited internets access we need a plan ‘B’. So, yeah. All I need to do is get in touch with said guest blogger for a crash course in EE, custom fields, and my capitalization preferences and we should be all set with that. In the mean time, all systems are a go with all type of mobloging. I know this for a fact as I had to test them all after the EE upgrade to 1.6.0. Heh.

My cat is downstairs talking. No really! It is a series of strange meowing that almost sounds like words. He is freaking me out. Cats see things we don’t. I am sure of it. I need sleep. Night.
