So I got out to my car this morning to go to work, like one usually does. I opened the garage door, unlocked the car, and got in. I was greeted by a really bad smell. At first I thought I was just a bit crazy or whatever, but as I started the car and backed out I was really convinced something had crawled in and died. I got out and looked under the seats. I found nothing. Hmm. I got in and rolled down the windows and made my way to work. As I drove along I looked around. I noticed the passenger door looked a little wet around the speaker. Now I was over at Betty’s last night till 9. It was dark and moist out when I left, and my roof had been down! In fact I had put the roof up before I drove home! It was almost cold! At any rate, I found it really odd to see wetness after all that time had passed.

As soon as I was safley parked I got a kleenex and went around to the passenger side to wipe it up. It was then that I noticed it wasn’t watery. It also was YELLOW on the tissue. It was like PEE. An animal (or cat) jumped into my car last night at Betty’s and peed (sprayed) in my car!!!!!

I could do none of those things. I was at work. Eeeew. It baked in the sun. Eeew. Something pissed IN my car. Eeew. Tomorrow I get to deal with it. Ew.

I was all set on this tagging thing. Really all set. I bought (bought) the module, read the docs… then got lost. I couldn’t get my head around it. Now I know I am a novice at best, and my understanding of EE as well as my own site (thanks Julie!) let’s me pass for a bit more experienced… but this one threw me for a loop!

At any rate, I have a coding ally in Miss Betty Nicole, and since we had a play date anyway, well she helped out. After an entire afternoon of tweaking, studying, and correcting (the docs *could* be better for the beginner level) we finally got it. And so I present my tag cloud! It will be more meaningful as time goes on. I am NOT going to tag my archives! Well, not ALL of them… but that is just one new feature here at dp.com. Also there has been the ‘Quick Props’. Okay, that title is totally recycled from the ones that appear as I type. It holds true here. I have had a whirlwind of days off! It all started yesterday…

*cue 90210 soundtrack*

I was up late , as I had just worked four closing shifts in a row followed by an open. Those who have worked retail totally feel me on this one! Anyway, so I was up at 11ish and was going to get together with the Betty for an hour or two as I needed to go to Fry's’s. Have you been there? OMG. It could be it’s own post, and for a wannabe geek like me, sigh. I was in heaven. But we were going there with a purpose. I needed a headset for the Skypes. Yes, Skypes. I am going to need to use the Skypes for my up and coming podcast with Shel. But that again, could be it’s own post filled with technological issues.

Anyhoo, where was I? Oh, so I picked up Betty in the convertible and her new hairdo was getting a bit mussed by the wind. She clearly needed a scarf. We immediately thought of Target, but they had no scarves. I think we just wanted to stop at the Target. We were going to give up but then Betty thought of Ross. Ross Dress For Less. After some illegal and somewhat dangerous driving we arrived at the Ross. I should have waited in the car. The place smelled like ass! However there were so many scarves, and we were quite happy to get in line with a hot little Jones Wear number. We waited in that line for 15 minutes and saw more stupidity than we thought possible in such a short time span. Then we were back on track with the original mission. Fry's’s. Looking much more stylish we hit the road again. I think there was a Starbucks stop in there too. There usually is.

I think I already gave my impression of the Fry's’s so we’ll skip to dinner. Which we only got to have because her husband had to work late…

An interesting thing happened yesterday. It’s actually something that has come up a time or two before. I was chatting with the folks, and the topic of what we’ve been up to, and who we know, ect. came up. So I was telling them about our fun new friends, the Betty and Beetle. “Blah, blah, blah”, they say, “and how do you know them? Does she work with you or Richard?” “Erm.. Well… I know her from the internet.” was the awkward response. “Oh.” Oh. Not very enthused. But what do I expect from people who think the internet is only good for geo-caching and porn? They must think that there is something kinky going on with me and Betty…

Seriously though. I sometimes want to tell them but I don’t know if they’d get it. Have they heard about blogs? I mean, do they need an intro first? Do you tell your parents about your blog?

I was supposed to go in to work early… Heh. Hard to be motivated at this point though. I actually slept well last night considering how crappy my week has been. It’s nice to feel rested.

Last night I found out that Richard was unable to get the 4th off for our anniversary. I am really bummed. Not that I had planned anything grand like he did last year. I can’t afford to do that when I’m on the edge of unemployment… But it would have been nice to spend the day together, have a nice meal and some bubbly. Now I will be home alone. Sigh. Well, at least I can get a new resume pulled together for non-retail. That will be the tough one. I also invited myself to Betty’s holiday festivities… So I should end up having a good day. Richard and I are off Saturday, so we’ll celebrate then.

In other news, we will be announcing the wieners of the Vox">Want Vox game! It should happen tonight around ten thirty California time, as that’s when I get home from work. Exciting, on the eve of the 4th! Apparently there are some new features or something coming to Vox after the holiday, so should be fun!

Huh. Why am I still awake? Why? Not awake in that, oh I can’t sleep way. I mean I am awake like it’s the middle of the day. It’s crazy! But then, we all know that I am crazy.

So what’s on my mind? Hmm. Well, I was thinking about my phone. It’s like half the size, if not smaller, than my old iPod. It is easily the most-up-to-date cell phone I’ve ever owned. Richard still insists he only agreed to them because I mentioned I needed a new phone to be able to record audio and send it to the blog. Which is true, I couldn’t do that on the other phone. So I was thinking I should ‘call my blog’ more. I was also thinking about my friend Betty. She’s like the Nicole to my Paris, only we really like each other. Or aren’t pretending to be in a fight. Or whatever. It’s totally hot. We need to go shopping. I am also thinking about work. I know… the minute I mention it it’s like that scene in Death Becomes Her in the asylum… everyone sceams, STOP! STOP IT! No! No! But you have to realize it’s just killing me. I hate having insecurities about my job. It is totally foreign to me. My career may not be the best or whatever, but I was good at it. Very good. I hate that it is such drama or trauma for me now. Sigh. What else is haunting me at 3 in the morning? There were a few guys outside my store tonight with hoodies pulled over there heads. Instant flashback to the robbery. An associate even noticed my reaction to it. Who knew I was so easy to read? And what’s with the hoodies anyway? It was like 80 degrees out.

I confess… I am a bit bummed about the ‘gayness’ of this blog. It was always my goal to not be in the gay, or any other niche. I’m not. I made my goal and am glad I have a broad appeal. My readers and links come from all types of places. I have never been a noted, new, or otherwise ‘gay blog’ and yet I am jealous. Especially around any ‘blog award’ time. (But I have the Blog Whore thing to remember, haven’t I?)

I confess… I do not like San Diego nearly as much as the Bay Area. It depresses me, and I sometimes wish I’d never moved. Even though the quality of my life has improved, I feel a bit trapped here.

I confess… I enjoy the cats waaay more than I let on. The beasts.

I confess… I do not take world events seriously. I realize that’s not a good thing. It’s something I work on everyday. I recently registered to vote again. I haven’t voted since Clinton! See, I’m working on it. I even have a favorite news program, but I pretend the pretty female anchors are lesbians… BUT I watch the news daily.

I confess… I am a horrible writer. This is probably obvious. I actually think earlier entries here were better, but nowadays you have to be careful posting about work, and that’s like 90 percent of my life so I am left with little to no subject matter. I mean, you can only write about that rude cashier at the grocery so many times…. and (see above) I am awful with world events and news.
