Sumptin’ Sumptin’
What an exciting week. Of course there is all the Big Birthday Fun for my man… We’ll have to do a re-cap of that at week’s end. Birthday Week is a process. Srsly. Huge fun, but a process. Then I got mail! You see, there was a little offering put out to take part in USPS fun over at the Cheap Blue Guitar. Of course since me and Bri-Bri (Brian) go way, way back I had to sign on! I mean, who doesn’t love getting a little sumptin’ sumptin’ by mail. Thank you Brian!! So well.. Yeah. Lemme just show you my treasures!
Amazing booty, right? Yes, that is a Hannah Montana Punching Balloon. Here, let me model a bit for you…
Welcome to my extended entry.
That’s just my hand. With a fashion accessory wristband by Little Miss Chatterbox! I find that it’s the perfect choice for any casual look.
There it is. There’s my face! Yes. And if you’ve ever done any face and hand modeling, you know how tough that pose is…

A Night Out.
Okay, so where to begin? I went to see Leslie Hall! Soo exciting.. I totally missed her the last time she was in San Diego. I wish I had stuck around to see if I could meet her after the show. I almost did, but seriously… The public? I hate them. At least the portion of them that were next to me during Leslie’s performance. I was pushed, shoved, stomped on, had beer slung at me, smacked in the head… I could go on, but it just feels like bitching. I really did have an awesome time. I think it’s just how people get at a show, all self centered… I may just be to old for that type of thing anymore. I don’t ‘get it’ with all the selfish abandon so I just get really pissed. So we ducked out as soon as she left the stage for real. I think Richard and I were both done.
Anyway, back to the beginning. The night started out pretty good. We were, as usual when we go to the Casbah, tragically early. Some other folk were pretty early too, so we got to chatting and actually hung out with them during the opening acts. Then I thought I saw a local blogger. In fact as time passed I was positive. I totally almost said hi or something, but I didn’t. I mean, it’s not someone I *know* online so I figured it would be creepy of me. Plus I think he was on a date. Awww… Anyhoo, so yeah. Microphone Mike was first. They (he?) rocked. I loved the crazy retro thing they had going. Could have heard more from them. Next was Bunky. I wanted to like them. I did. I like them from what I listened to on MySpace. But dood. They were so loud. Then really quiet, then super really loud. I thought the glass on my iPhone was gonna shatter. My hair vibrated at one point. It was just loud.
Then Leslie and the Lys came on and it was pure genius. Seeing her live is just… wow. Richard took a ton of pictures. He’s crazy like that. Crazy for me! LOL. Okay I am gettin’ punchy. Time for bed. Here’s my 2 favorite shots of the evening… I’ll get the rest on Flickr tomorrow sometime.
UPDATE: Pictures on Flickr..

I Love Camera Phones!
This photo was taken by a close friend up in San Francisco. He took it with his phone and sent it to mine. It arrived in the middle of a stressful day. The timing was perfect. I immediately got a smile on my face and felt 10% less likely to strangle someone. The Embarcadero at Christmas. Great shot for a cell phone yo!
Sometimes I forget how much I miss San Francisco and the people I left behind… Thanks for sending this my way Patrick!

The Up-skirt Shot
Brunch today was at The Top of the Market. It is a fancier version of The Fish Market. In fact it is right upstairs of the Tuna Harbor location. I love a champagne brunch on Sunday! Especially with our crazy group. Notorious (to borrow a phrase), all of them. Just like Tori. Heh.
But the reason I post this is because we were near this very famous statue…
Unconditional Surrender, a 25-foot, 6,000 pound statue by world-renowned artist J. Seward Johnson commemorating a famous World War II photo was unveiled Feb. 10 at Mole Park in San Diego. Unconditional Surrender is a three-dimensional interpretation of a photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York City on Aug. 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day.... Unconditional Surrender was previously displayed in New York City in 2005 and Sarasota, Fla. in 2006. The statue made its way here, and will stand at the G Street Mole Park for duration of 2007 before traveling to its next home. The statue is owned by the Sculpture Foundation of Santa Monica, Calif., and is on loan to the Port of San Diego.
Apparently it is the place to get your photo taken. Lot’s of couples were mimicking the pose, all romantic. There are a bunch of shots on Flickr by various people. You get the idea…
Then there is our version:
We are sooo pervy. Look at that girl passing in the foreground. I could tell she was thinking we were total perverts.

An Afternoon In Daniel’s Kitchen…
Today Richard went rollerblading with a friend. I opted out. I wasn’t feelin’ it today. Also, I tore up my feet pretty bad last time, and cannot do this workweek with painful feet. No way. But I put the time to good use. I went to the mall. I went to Starbucks. I went to the grocery. Then I came home and baked.
Mmm. Did he say bake??
Yup. I baked. I found this recipe online a week or so ago. I held back on making them, due to my new diet and all. Today I gave in. Now the recipe is called Vampire Cupcakes. They are very cool looking. They even “bleed” when you bite them! But the recipe involved making the cake mix and frosting from scratch. Bleh. I don’t really do scratch these days. I was raised in a Betty Crocker cooking household. Even the Betty Crocker cookbook had recipes that called for canned foods and boxed mixes. Heh. So I substituted the 2 cups cake flour,1 1/3 cups sugar, ect. for a supreme moist deluxe Betty Crocker mix. For the frosting I substituted the 1 1/2 cups sugar, 2 large egg whites, room temperature 1/3 cup water, ect. for a tub of Betty Crocker whipped white frosting. Everything else I followed exactly…
Take a peek:
Ingredients… Mmm! Fancy!
Cupcake innards.
Filled and ready to frost!
Creepy AND tasty!
