Am I Crazy?
We watched
Monk tonight. It was on after that
Perfect Husband thing (which I couldn't get into...) Anyway, I had never seen that show before. Apparently the lead guy is afflicted with
O.C.D. or something. In one scene he was at one of those
50's diners that do a show every so often. Well the entire wait staff broke into song and dance, and bumped his table. He was so distraught by this. He actually grabbed two napkins (one for each hand) and turned the table back to exactly where it was. Of course the first thing
Richard said was "Hmm, remind you of anyone?"
The funny thing is that it's true. I have developed a certain level of
O.C.D.. A low level, but it's there. I think everyone has things that they are quirky about. Their own level of O.C.D. For me, I like things placed a certain way. I have a fruit bowl on my kitchen counter. I have it perfectly centered based on the lamps at either end and the florescent light overhead. It just makes sense to have it centered. Once, my friend P. was over for dinner. He was visiting while I was still cooking. In an attempt to, I don't know, get closer to the kitchen, he came over and stood at the counter. He shoved the bowl out of his way to set down his wine. Apparently my facial expression was, umm, not happy. It was a moment. Guacamole was then spilled. They (
Richard & P.) thought it was hysterical. I did not.
Maybe I am crazy. At least I don't comb out the fringe on the throw rug, or make people hit the pound key before I can continue on the phone...
