Today I spent the afternoon with my first blog baby!

I am so excited. A friend of mine had expressed an interest in having a website some time back. He has a unique twitter name and when I saw it was available as a URL I bought it for him. I mean, there is a German band by the same name, so no screwing around! I had to act! Later in the year for his birthday I bought him a year of hosting and installed Wordpress, basically put the site online. Today I handed him the keys…

I think this is gonna be big. He is a man with a lot of potential as well as talent. I think if it all works out well having a site online (no matter how he decides to utilize it) will be an important step. He’s starting as a personal blog type site, but I have a feeling that it will end up somewhere else entirely. The guy is smart and his business savvy and branding knack will evolve this thing. I’m just glad he got HIS domain name. As long as that is owned he can be on/off line as it suits him, in whatever form he likes. Gotta admit tho, I am having a lot of fun helping with a new blog. I am no designer or anything, but I will help in anyway I can. It’s fun for me! And when he’s famous I plan to make him sign shit I can put on eBay… LOL j/k! (kinda )

I will post links all over my blog as soon as he has some content and gives me a ‘green light’...

Mobile Blogging. It’s fun! Mostly with iPhone I did a paragraph or two. Maybe send of a pic. Couldn’t do both at once but how detailed did I want to get posting on a phone? iPad is a different experience tho. I can do much more. Kinda. My EE publish page is much more usable than on iPhone. Sadly tho, it cannot find pictures when I try to include one on iPad. Sure there no camera, but if I’ve recently synced or sent something to flicker I can grab it and put it in my photo library.

So anyhoo. Testing a blogging app for iPad today. Here’s a test picture.

So apparently any good faith return to blogging is begun with the same steps. We all are familiar. We’ve all been there. First the big “is this thing on?” post. It’s just tradition, right? Second there’s a big “I updated my blogging software, I’m more productive and happy here!” post. Am I right? Step 3…

Welll, kids I cannot and will not do Step 3. No promises. I have broken the number one promise I made to ME when this site started. I won’t even link to it. I’m ashamed. I was going to write here (read HERE, not Twitter) everyday. I have broken that a number of times now. Sure we’re on on our ninth year… OMFG NINE YEARS. !!!!!!!!!!!! Also I am not the inspiration. I am practicing in advance. One of best all time online friends may bring his blog back. So in rallying (copying) support I said that if he did I would too. It’s easier with a partner. Yes?

Anyhoo. That said I have song lyrics. I know I’ve posted them up in here before. I’m doing it again. Somehow if I do stick with this site another few years they seem… fitting. Odd. Yes. What a night! Can I just tell you first, that alcohol is a very dangerous drug? Especially when combined with glitter, hair, and heels…

I was logged into Facebook the other day and saw that Vuboq was a-coming-to-town. Like Santa. Kinda. Only this was for work and not like gift giving and reindeer. Now we’ve only chatted a bit here and there on the Social Networks, mostly the Twitter. But hey, I read his blog pretty regularly, and I am like the San Diego welcome wagon, so I sent him a message inviting him to our holiday Shindig. Sadly, after much traveling that day he cancelled. But being the persistent one, I mentioned we should at least do drinks while he was in town.

Because, to be perfectly honest, most of my friends are FROM the internet. And also, I figured he’d cancel again. Just cause, you know, we hadn’t chatted that often before. But the next day we had a date, time, and place all figured out. Yay! Being that it was going to be a Wednesday I naturally chose Dreamgirls over at the Urban Mo’s. A guaranteed good time. As it turned out I was right!

So Vuboq (can I say his name? Not sure since he doesn’t use it..) is amazing. He’s fun, frisky, and adorable all at once. It was surprisingly easy to talk to him, and it was that weird “like we’ve known each other forever” vibe. I am so, so, soo glad we met!!! (In fact I wish he lived here… So we could hang out and laugh a lot and have Martini Time). Plus, he brought the fantastic Miss Michelle M. She’s not a tweet or a blog, so like… no link. But she is FUN! Also a local gal so we hope to see her again.

It turned out that the drag show was the most perfect venue.. We had the most amazing time talking, watching the scandalous performances of the Dreamgirl’s Beauties, and enjoying boozy beverages. Ice broken, we ended up on the heated patio and just talked, laughed, and harassed the “girl’s”. Well, not harassed so much as meet and greeted… and photographed! Yay! So here’s a few photos:
